Max have got 4 championships and he is still quite young, I can see him going beyond Schumacher and Hamilton

Hard to say, isn't it? He's older than Seb was when he got his fourth. He could go on and get many more, or he could spend years watching other drivers win. He always gives the impression that he's not all that happy in F1, I wonder whether we'll see him go off to race in other areas if he goes a few years without a WDC? Which, tbh, seems more likely than not. I don't see RB as favourites next year or favourites to nail the 2026 regulations.

Depends whether he gets a competitive car again. If RB or one of his future teams get a leap on the rule changes again, sure. RB are going to struggle with the engine changes though. As Mr Jack says, he may also not stay in F1 as long as those did.

As with every other driver, he's at the mercy of the cars and their performance.

Verstappen has his 4th title at 27 years old, off the back of a season that looks like others have caught up a good bit with one more year before another big reg change.

Vettel had his 4th title at 26 years old, off the back of his most dominant season, absolutely crushing the opposition ... and never won another, because the 2014 reg changes completely turned the field on its head - he finished 5th the season after his last title.

Verstappen could go on to win 8 titles or he could spend the next 5-10 years performing really well in a car that's only good enough to win him a few runner up trophies (or more likely, I think he'd move on to another series rather than sit in F1 not winning - he has hinted that he may well even do so if he is winning).

Time is certainly on his side and Red Bull have proved to be remarkably consistent, with only a single season since 2009 where they haven't been top 3 constructors, so he's about as well placed as anyone could hope to be - but it only takes one or two weak links (no Newey, engine supply?) and he/they might not be realistically near another title for years.

Team culture aside (and the fact that you just hate RB), he is the better driver.
Better than who though? Perez?

That’s my point. In the current situation, we’re never going to know. He had a rocket of a car in 2022 and 2023 and therefore only his teammate could feasibly compete. Perez obviously couldn’t.

Like it or not, Max would get a lot more credit if he had a teammate that was challenging him for P1 every weekend.

Yeah, you never really get the feeling that Max loves F1 in the way you might see from someone like Hamilton, I think his love is racing and competition in general and it wouldn't surprise me to see him become the first person since Graham Hill to go on and collect the triple crown, racing in various series. Once Hamilton packs it in, I don't think we'll see him in endurance etc. in any serious capacity.

I know Trump visited their garage and that was obviously a massive error, but I’ve not seen any evidence that he actually supports Trump  He was born and raised in LA, seems unlikely. But if he does, he’s not spouting off about it like Danica did.
They didn’t have an option they didn’t invite him, he requested to visit McLarens garage so they didn’t have an option. Nothing to do with Zak.

Yes quite right Vettle looked unbeatable during his purple patch. Same with Alonso. Potential is one thing wins on the board are what it's about

Well they did have an option of saying no. But allowing it was probably safer, especially when dealing with the giant orange man child who holds a grudge and will be in charge of the nuclear codes next year..

I wasn’t the poster that alleged Brown supports Trump :)

Read up about it, he was a guest of the FIA… he requested to visit McLarens garage and they had to oblige.

Merc must be scratching their heads as to why they were by far the fastest here.

Great weekend by George. Lewis will be kicking himself that he ****** up Q3. He might well have won today otherwise.

Congrats to Max on title no.3. Hes been very good this year, even when the car hasn't been the fastest.

Cooler conditions and low grip do seem to favour the Mercs...

Ferrari probably winning constructors to at this rate. Mclaren lost a whole bunch of speed once their dodgy wing got put to bed

That wing was specific to low downforce tracks with long straights, so Las Vegas would probably have been its next outing after Baku.. McLaren won at Singapore and they certainly wouldn't have used that wing there.

Ferrari will find a strategic way to throw away the constructors anyway, I'd say it's McLarens to lose of course but I can't see them throwing any more points away, they've had one of the better cars all season.

I'm absolutely floored by Perez. RB are going to lose out on a lot of money not only in championship winnings, but also the fact they needent have fielded the car in the first place to change the outcome of the contructors championship. Sure he brings in money outside of that and likely helps sell their copium juice but if you focus on the racing side it really is a huge difference to Max. Especially when RB have never shy to remove any sort of embarassment to win at all costs. Performance should be the key metric, not business. It's an aspect of the sport at my ripe age of 39 that puts me off. His overtake today was great though, I'll give him that.
