Yup, Germany 2019.
Lewis ended up in the wall, limped back to the pits for a hilariously long pit stop where Mercedes got everything wrong. Then Bottas binned it later on.

I doubt this is about the car being overweight but rather getting every bit of performance they can, which is completely reasonable. Cars would probably have no paint if they didn't need to show sponsors.

They seem to have decided they don't care about this season, doing a Haas I guess, but it's cost them their target driver.

That’s the best they can come up with without Newey’s input. No clue how to evolve the aero or other tricks, let’s shave some paint off

It'd be nice but teams rarely do. My hope is that they have the staying power to get good rather than bailing after a few years.
The Audi partnership has always struck me as one where they would want instant (Or very quick) results and I just can't see it happening.
I hope they stick with it, but I can also see the team ending up back in Peter Saubers hands yet again.

Who was the last team who genuinely came into F1 and hit the ground running?! I don't really count BrawnGP in that regard
Toyota didn't, BAR didn't. Maybe BMW Sauber if you count them as a fully new team did alright.
