Sounds like desperation to me ,be curious to know actual weight differences though :o
Several teams have done it throughout F1's history - Alpine had barely any paint on their car.

I doubt this is about the car being overweight but rather getting every bit of performance they can, which is completely reasonable. Cars would probably have no paint if they didn't need to show sponsors.

I hope Audi comes in and hits the ground running.
Audi are already ballsing it up according to The Race. :D

TL:DW - changed senior leadership, people involved at the start no longer involved, maybe too hands off, Audi corporate starting to take more of an interest (could interfere unnecessarily).

The Audi partnership has always struck me as one where they would want instant (Or very quick) results and I just can't see it happening.

I hope they stick with it, but I can also see the team ending up back in Peter Saubers hands yet again.

Who was the last team who genuinely came into F1 and hit the ground running?! I don't really count BrawnGP in that regard :p

Toyota didn't, BAR didn't. Maybe BMW Sauber if you count them as a fully new team did alright.

Yup, Germany 2019.

Lewis ended up in the wall, limped back to the pits for a hilariously long pit stop where Mercedes got everything wrong. Then Bottas binned it later on.

Link to Germany 2019 Highlights.

Back when it was entertaining to see Max win :p
"Perez is out of this race!"

Some things never change... Lol

Also fair play to Vettel for his 20th -> 2nd in that race.

I suppose Mercedes but then they didn't actually win a race for a couple of seasons; and again as such they weren't "new"
