Even if you did - everyone's simulations would still converge on the same strategies.
Was it Qatar last year that had mandated pit stops? So the teams/drivers had to use a certain amount of tyres and they couldn't exceed a certain amount of laps?

That was a brilliant race, just going hell for leather the entire time and even with the teams having similar strategies it meant they had to push each tyre to it's limit. We had some great racing as well.

Redbull could do worse than put Hulkenberg in Perez’ car one weekend.

This season’s already put the “He’s single lap specialist” Hulkenberg myth to bed, so let’s see what he can do with a decent car.

One of the worst races of the season sadly. How many overtakes? Not many I don't think. I feel like the coverage gas got worse in terms of them missing stuff as well. The amount of times I look at the timings on the left side, see someone is within 0.6 seconds inside DRS and then see them jump up a spot only for the live coverage to be slow mo zooming into some Z list celeb standing at the back of a teams garage. Do better ffs!

I think the difference between Max and Lando was summarised this race weekend by the fastest lap opportunity Lando had. Max is going for the fastest lap in that position. Lando needs to grow a pair and start being more ruthless. Tell the team you are coming in for softs with 2 laps to go, because you have a driver's championship to win.

An interesting tidbit from this race is that the gap between Norris and Verstappen is now (almost) what it was after the Chinese GP, which took Max 5 races and 1 Sprint to build. Norris has 7 races and 2 sprints to overturn that. What's going against Lando is that the performance difference now between the RB and the McLaren, although flipped, is far less than it was at the start of the season.

Unfortunately with 2 laps to go, there wasn't a pit window gap between them.. he would have been giving up track position..

Brundle mentioned this in commentary;
He believed it wasn’t worth the risk

Also, the team may not have told Norris that Ricciardo had pitted

I voted 8 because even though the race was boring, I've waited through all the dominance of Ferrari, Red Bull, Mercedes and Red Bull again for Mclaren to become the top team and the size of the lead was brilliant.

Also Ferrari and Mercedes more often get into the mix now

Yeah because Lando hit traffic and the gap came down several seconds. They could have brought him in with about 5 or 6 laps to go (can't remember exactly) where I thought he had a clear pit stop window gap before Lando got up to the tail enders. OK so it would have been close, but it was doable I thought.
Mclaren as a team would never go for it as they want to prioritise constructors, but Lando needs to have the hunger to attack every point. Opportunities to win championships don't come around too often. He is in one right now. Some would say it's actually in his hands if he uses the performance he clearly has over the Redbull now.

Right now with the current drivers standings, Lando would lose the championship by a point if he won all 6 remaining races, all 3 remaining sprint races, and took all 6 fastest laps.
The easiest way for Lando to win right now though - and what they should arguably be focussing on - is bringing home Mclaren one twos, obviously with Lando being given priority wins. If they do that every race, even if Max takes all 3rd places with fastest laps, Lando still would win by 8 points.

Is that the maths is it? great in theory i suppose but Max won't come 3rd or below in every race, he came 2nd yesterday. It really just needs a DNF or below 8th, and Lando taking max points to swing this into the territory of 'we could have a close title fight in the final couple of races'

It's nice that Max is no longer running away with it, but that was such an uneventful race unfortunately. I think next year is going to be interesting though. I wonder if Red Bull will be back at the front again or if things are going to be a bit shaken up?

It'll be interesting to see what happens next year; especially as I expect car dev will drop off pretty quickly as teams start to focus on 2026. There's probably less likelihood of a massive turnaround next season (like McLaren) because of that.

I doubt it without Newey.

What exactly is wrong with the tyres? What is it that you want to see?

I feel Pirelli have done a pretty good job in recent years with the tyres,

The tyres overheat if you push them too hard and then never recover. So you have the situation that someone can close quickly on the car in front, make a couple of attempts to pass which are blocked and then the tyres are done for.
