Seems some inconsistent steward decisions on the face of it. Like penalising the inside car for forcing another driver off the track in some instances.

But for Max/Lando it wasn’t applied in the same way as it was for other drivers.

But I guess the stewards have all the data and telemetry so there must be a reason behind it.

I may not remember correctly but i believe that the forcing other drivers off penalties were due to the outside car not getting the overtake done, while max/lando lando gained the advantage by overtaking.

basically Lando should have tried to stay level and look like he was being forced off and kept off (which changes from leaving track and gaining to being forced off and hindered)

It's clever from Verstappen. If you are on the inside and don't make the corner then the car on the outside also can't make the corner thus nullifying any chance of an overtake within track limits. Im sure he had this move pre-planned for when Lando eventually got a good enough run.

If Norris was going to make the corner comfortably I think he would have good reason to feel aggrieved but a quick look at the replay suggested he wasn't going to make the corner either... if this is the case then the penalty is perhaps a bit more understandable.

Lando kept trying the outside, expecting Max to race fair. But Max knows from doing it before that he can just run his car all the way off the track and keep the position.

Lando gotta learn to do Max on the inside.

Very good weekend Ferrari but really can't get my head around the lando penalty.

Lando was ahead at the braking point so that then means Max is the one doing the overtake and he forces the other car off track. From Russell early on it was the inside car that got penalised.

Just seems idiotic to watch at times, the goal posts move every other week on the rules.

I don't think the rules have changed. I think an overtake that occurs that far off track is always going to be disallowed. The confusing bit is the murky area around how a driver can purposely miss a corner (or go wide on exit) and effectively use that as a form of defending.

Cooldown room needs to be at least 5mins longer when they're chatting to each other like that.

If it's awkward and silent then sure, but come onnnn, the podium and the fans can wait a bit longer for us back home

It's exactly the same move Max did at the start.

As fans we’re not going to know if that is what’s happened. Mistakes happen right at the limit.

The stewards would know if they have the telemetry.
