I have done it on the EVGA 670.
Do HIS let you do that. Or will it void warranty.

Card 2 the bottom card, the a intake fan blowing right up to it. So should be getting some nice cool air.

Technically it voids the warranty, but they will never know. ;)

Well I've played for a few hours without any issues at stock...

Could be I just have a stinker of a card tbh? It's just not happy being overclocked at all it seems.

Doubtful, probably something else. Even the worse clocking 7950's are all good for 1050.

What are you using to overclock and have you disabled ULPS first? Maybe try His iturbo.

Hey man thanks for the reply - I have not yet disabled ULPS. Will try that tonight and see if it makes a difference. I did manage to play at 930 clock with default volt (1.175).

Is there any way to tell if the Boost BIOS is still doing its thing? I alt+tabbed from Chivalry: Deadliest Warrior but MSI Afterburner still said 930Mhz...

I will also try HIS iTurbo tonight and post back.

Thanks for your help with this!

You can setup gpu overlays as per my thread here. This will enable you to monitor the core clock to make sure its not throttling, dropping down to a lower clock etc.

If that happens then ULPS is not disabled. If you change driver then ULPS needs to be disabled again.

Im using the Bios you said ULPS doesnt need disabling.

1100 core 1500 mem

I have move the bottom card which seems to be the warmer card to the top. Side of the case is off.

But a large drop in temps approx 20c and it passed.

Yeah well i still disable it most of the time when clocking. You want full performance after all. You'll notice one gpu working slightly harder than the other with ULPS on. If you disable it you'll get equal gpu usage which is always ideal.

For stock clocks i leave ULPS on when i dont need much gpu performance.

You know you have good airflow, space for the cards to breath, good tim application etc when you're cards tend to read identical temps. :)

Here's an example of the sort of matched gpu usage you'll get with ULPS off which can sometimes offer a few extra percent performance.

Yeah there is a good space between the cards. And i think it helps the way the cooler fan cant take air from top and bottom. i also have an antec 80mm fan blowing on the heat hipes.

Time to test BF3. Roll on BF4, so glad its all sorted and I didnt have to RMA my board.

I wonder where my 670 Sli posts are to compare.

When people have issues with the screen stuttering can that happen at any time even if not gaming? In msi afterburner I'm getting load spikes and stuttering but then after a few minutes it goes... I tried to find the answer in this thread but got very lost and confused.
It doesn't seem related to temps and invariably happens when first starting. After it's initial dither gaming from there on in is faultless.
