Can't even get to dos prompt! No matter what button I press I can't get to it on my pc :(

Xfx780i mobo, helps all I get is normal bios or safe mode options etc

Turns out the card is throttling % usage when playing chivalry approaching 50c each time.

Would a waterblock sort this card out or is faulty?

With your bios flash/files usb stick plugged in, you need to go into your mb bios and select the usb stick as the boot drive>save and exit and it will boot into dos.

It shouldn't throttle@50c, either the card is faulty or there is another software/hardware conflict in your system.

This means either you didn't flash the new bios correctly or you have a setting wrong. The card should not be throttling. Re-flash the bios i linked above and check again. Use Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart the system when the flash is done. Make sure you're flashing to slot 1 on the card.

Uninstall all drivers and overclocking apps before you do the flash.
 
Installed mine last night, certainly quieter than my TF3, but sadly the ASIC is only 72% vs the 93% of my TF3.

Clocked both cards to 925/1250 and getting almost exactly double the performance of my TF3 at 1000/1400, epic!

Will have a fiddle with BIOS flashing next week.
 
Okay flashed bios and now all I have is a black screen, bios 2 still works -.-

I went for Kaboom's second bios 1000/1400, everything looked fine till restart, any ideas on how to get it back? (should probably read through thread to find out)

Ooops. i forgot to remove drivers and afterburner prior to the flash if that helps

You must have done something wrong. Flick bios 2 on. Restart pc. Go to dos to play again but this time before you attempt flashing flick the bios switch back to slot 1 to try the flash again.

Did you the the flash success message when you did it?

Use this bios if you have a his card.

Cheers for the help, i reflashed it back to stock and attempted Kabooms bios again and it failed again, so re went back and reflashed to stock and tried the second bios that you posted and boom, it worked!

Strange, but the results are well worth it

Before on furmark at 1920x1080 my average fps was 31, now its an average of 54!

I increased the clock speeds to 1000/1300 and all is smooth

Hi LtMatt

I have flashed the new bios you posted (did all the uninstall).

Ran Heaven, and I got a blip, and lower score.

I can see the blip. Could have been caused by anything. The only thing this bios changed from the last one was the fan profile. Just make sure you're using enough voltage so as to not starve the card of voltage and you'll be fine.

If the 7990 is going under water, it will be the faster of the two. On air id probably side with 2x7950's. The 7990 is a great card though and at £400 it is £60 cheaper than i paid for my 7950's. However i did recoup £100 from selling the free games.

Comparing my score to the fastest 7990 score in the Firestrike bench. We have Toxic's 7990 under water ahead of my 7950's on air. I manage to beat out the other 7990's on air though.

Actually i manage to beat out the 7990 on water as well on Graphics score, just realised.

However on Firestrike Extreme the 7990 under water is faster. More about pure grunt there which the 7990 has plenty of.
