Doesn't matter if its clocked to 5ghz. The bottleneck in bf3 comes via a lack of cores/threads, not a lack of IPC or cpu grunt. Only an i7 or higher will help with that.

BF4 is the same im afraid.
However Mantle may well be the saviour for you. It could be a game changer for four core cpu's.

Hey Matt.. if i crossfire my current Sapphire Dual X 7950 which do u think is the best 7950 to do it with regarding heat? Reference card or similar to what i already have?
My case cooling has 2 front 120mm intakes (can fit another 120mm in the bottom of case if i want) and 3 outtake 120mm fans.. 2 up top and 1 out the back.

I'd go with an Ice-Q if you can. Or you can get the same card as you have now, but you'll need a side exhaust fan or two ideally if you go with two gpu's that dump heat in the case.

Yea i got space for a side fan if needed.. its a Zalman Z9 Plus case.

I'd go with the same gpu then. Two identical gpu's looks better imo.
The Ice-Q will probably give you lower case temps though.

A 280x should crossfire with either 7950 or a 7970 as its the same core. I'd look for a 7950 if you can though.

I think my new card has died for no reason!
Been running fine in crossfire with no overclock. Started a game of Smite today, and got a gray screen lock up. Rebooted, could get in to windows, ran Heaven, another lock up.
Took the HIS out leaving the TF3, no problems.
Swapped out so the HIS is the only card. No system boot.
Changed the bios switch, still no system boot.
Swapped back to the TF3, working fine, Heaven and Smite.
Temps and everything are fine, I was running it all at stock. RMA ahoy!

LtMatt what are the volts set at on the Bios. Mine are showing 1.150, thought it was 1.175.

Done that rebooted and still showing 1.150.

Reinstall overclocking apps + drivers. The bios is 1.175v, end of.

Have you got ccc overdrive enabled in the background or something, this was messing with my cards until I realised I'd forgot to disable it lol.

OK, I've just installed 2 of these cards.
Heaven score is lower than I'd like, but I'm wondering if you guys can help me with this problem and another I've been having...
First off, I'm using Precision X (as it was already installed).
When I've got no apps open the 2nd card seems to power down and doesn't show any voltage or gpu speed. However as soon as I open any app the second card kicks in and runs flat out 99% usage. It's really annoying, any way around this?
Secondly, when running Heaven the first card hovers around 99% usage but the second card keeps dropping to 64% usage and then spikes up to 99% and then drops back down. Any idea how to fix this, the power target thing is already at +20%.
Also, is it normal that Heaven only shows the stats for 1 card with Crossfire? (it showed 2 with SLI).
