Bios Flashing Instructions
You might want to write this down...
You need to create a bootable usb stick.
etc etc etc
Do I follow this again or is there a shortcut?
Yeah so I boot from the USB and use the command prompts?
Ah it's too easy Matt. BIOS updated, now playing sleeping dogs
OK thanks. Thats on extreme default graphics settings. Only getting around 40FPS, does that sound reasonable?
Can you connect the card to the Mobo via a different connection? Can you try the card in a different pc?
Managed to boot into Windows in the other PCIEX4 slot I have.
Sounds about right for stock clocks of 925/1250. Assuming you don't want to overclock or add a second card for crossfire if you drop SSAA down to high from Extreme you'll get a ton more fps.
Hmm. Not sure what to suggest then. Damaged PCI-E slot?
What can be gained in terms of fps with a conservative overclock under water?
Yeah, it's a bit strange as the 7850 I'm upgrading from works fine in it. Have their been any official BIOS updates released for the card do you know?
10-20% depending on the overclock. Your 7950 should be able to do 1100 core without any trouble. Memory can vary but if you can get 1100/1500 stable then that is a solid 24/7 overclock for these cards. If you can get higher on the core than that then even better. My max is 1125/1575 @1.2v.
For 1100 core you will need around 1.175v-1.225v. You will need to test it yourself and see.
When you start overclocking to 1100 you need to keep temps below 80c. If you go over 1100 it needs to be kept below 75C or lower i find. Otherwise you get artifacts and or crashing.
