**Official ABIT IP-35 Pro Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

can i burn a CD RW and boot to that to flash the BIOS?

anyone know why sometimes the CPU fan settings are not being used? eg, i set it to 30c=50% and 60c=100%. after exiting, the settings are not put to use, it will only use it if i turn off the while computer's main power for a few minutes.

ok i think ive got the correct files on my usb memory stick, but now i can not seem to find it on the list of bootable devices only usb zip, usb FDD and usb cd rom which ive tried just incase. Am i missing something ?

Also the command line I take it thats what I type into dos once it boots up ?

Yes, due to the MSDOS files it now gives you a MSDOS prompt so you are can run commands. What you need to do there is run the batch file, and depending how you wrote the batch file you'll need to do either:

Using %1 in batch file
<flashfilename>.bat <biosfilename>.bin

Using the proper bios filename
<flashfilename>.bat

I'm having a similar problem. CPU fan is running at 1800rpm all the time. Very annoying when the temp is only 29C! The other fans seem to control fine. In addition if I use the "Optimise" button in uGuru fan section it crashes the program, but only for the CPU fan, others optimise fine.

i've posted in their forums, it seems only the CPU fan controller connector is bugged. if you use one of the AUX connectors, you will be able to control the speed.

but it only goes down to 8v. which is a shame

I found that manually you can only select down to 8V but if you use the optimise button it will drop down to 2.5-3v depending on the fan. Dunno if this is actual output or not but it does slow the fans down.

Pity about the CPU controller, it's a bit dangerous to connect it to another connector, you could easily make changes that could damage your cpu thinking that you're changing system fans (well I could ;)) especially after a BIOS upgrade when settings are returned to default.

Hopefully it will be a bios upgrade fix and not a motherboard fault

I might contact ABIT about it directly...

I emailed Abit technical support and got this very prompt if terse reply

Because the FAN is 3 pin and the Intel designed fan control is 4 pin fan.

I have the Zalman CNPS7700, this may be the problem. Is the 9700 3-pin too? I was under the impression that the mobo was 3 and 4-pin compatible... oh well, I was very happy with this cooler, temps only 4-5C above room temp under light load and it keeps the surrounding components nice and cool too. CPU and PWM never go over 44C under load.

the 4-pin CPUFan header will fit & power a 3-pin fan but uGuru can't control it (the non-uGuru IP35's strangely enough can).
The normal solution is just to disable fan monitoring/low rpm shutdown on that header & use another 3-pin header instead controlling that via FanEQ.

yes, my Zalman 9500 also has a 3-pin connector :( was a bit disppointed when i saw Intel stock HSF had 4 pin connector.

currently have my eye on the Tuniq Tower 120, does that have 4 pin connector?

Anyone knows which voltage option is the one for the chipset? It looks like I have to increase this in order to go at 3.6,but I dont know which one it is.Also, how much should I increase it?
