**Official ABIT IP-35 Pro Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

Then to the middle leg and either one of the outers of the vr. I arrange mine so clockwise increases the resistance. Set it to about 700ohms first, then wind the resistance down with it under load, the vcore will increase. Keep going until the bios selected value reads the same as the vcore (actual from DMM).

So basically you only need to use one of the outer legs and the middle one. Does it matter which way round what point you solder to?

My Q6600 is at stock speed and voltage now until I do this mod on the heatsinks.Idle PWM temps are 45C with the fan.

mine is at 1.4775 3.4ghz been priming for half an hour and pwm's are 67c. cpu temp 56(itwill keep rising to maybe 62 pwm to 73). i worried like you about pwm temps but then i realised something. pwm temps and cpu temps only go high when doing the gay prime. when gaming for hours ive checked pwm and they are at 60c cpu is like 49. prime rags your pc ive noticed. i kept my volts at the above rate but changed the speed to 3.6ghz. prime failed and reset the system. now at those same settings ive played games for hours no crashes....like i said prime is a killer, theres no way you are going to use your computer the way that 5mb program prime does....so dnt be thinking your computer has to be prime stable for it to be stable in hardcore gaming mode.

Thanks muggs, thats what I thought too.Do you have a pic of where you placed your fan cooling the PWM?I added a fan but Im not happy with its current position.Heres mine

thats exactly where i have put mine starmanwarz. try moving the atx12v mobo cable out of the wind path, maybe use it to make fan more stable aswell

I ordered a Zalman fan bracket, they look ideal for the job but I dont know if I will have enough room to fit it,tubes might get in the way.I also ordered a 40mm fan,I might be able to place it on the waterblock blowing on the PWM from a small distance.

Any of you guys plug a 4 pin power connector into the slot below the pci express connectors?
I have a 8800gtx with 2 6 pin connectors so didnt think that one was neccesary but would be interested in what others have done? Plus its in a horrible position for wiring purposes :p

I have the same question too.

That molex connector is the auxiliary molex power connector used for powering cards that are in a Crossfire setup, or for cards that use lots of power, but single card setups don't need it plugged in because there aren't any single power cards that need that much power (even the 2900 XT). It basically just provides extra power. If you have a single card then you don't need to plug it in, if you have a Crossfire setup then it's advisable to plug it in.

I've had a GTX benching at 679/2200 without it connected, no problems, so I'd say you definitely dont need it for single cards.

Finally got my IP35 Pro, all set up and running now. Getting some great temps over my 965P-S3. I heard this board ran hotter than the 965P's, but my temps are a nice deal lower.

Core1/2: 30c / 29c (idle)
PWM: 34c
Mobo: 24c

Love the board so far, BIOS is brillaint (uGuru stuff) although I had to redo all the beeping setups again when I flashed to the newer BIOS which was a little annoying.

he's running a dual & you're on a quad - that's twice as much current draw hence higher temp.
I'd say that's more to do with a lack of local air flow from water cooling. Btw, quads don't use twice as much wattage, depends which revision and which dual core, e.g. E6600 vs Q6600 more like G0/+46%, B3/+61%.

My temps running Prime small ffts with a 3.6GHz quad and air cooling, ambient 20C.

Can someone talk me throught step by step of flashing my bios using a usb memory stick, i have read the stuff on the first post but im not convinced im going to do it right, so as it stands at the moment i have downloaded HP USB tool, awdflash and the update for the bios folder (M629b11) which has 5 items in it one of which is awdflash as well.

Any help would be great thanks .

In the first instance, make the USB stick bootable and make sure you can boot to it.
You only need the .....On the USB memory key, you will see these files. These are the basic Win98 system files .. from that site.

Then see this post with the flash utility and actual file added.

Then this post...

Use the command line below (not the bat with the bios) and a usb flashstick or your floppy. Don't use the windows bios utility!!!!

AWDFLASH.EXE M629B_11.BIN /py /sn /Wb /cd /cp /cc /CKS

Use that ONLY if your BIOS file is M629B_11.BIN <that need to be the BIN file name.
The BIN file is the BIOS file.

Yep this is true.Currently my Q6600 G0 is at 3.2,and I get 50C under load.I was concerned about it just because the high limit is 60C on this board.I sorted my PWM temps by adding a fan,I dont think I can do the same with the chipset though.I will try 3.6 today,I hope it wont go higher than 55C.
