**Official ABIT IP-35 Pro Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

you probably want to increase the CPU VTT & MCH,
You are also going to get some noticeable Vdroop so watch what your Vcore really is as opposed to BIOS setting.

Vdroop is the difference between the idle value & the load value.
As you put more load on the system the voltage will sag.
On the IP35 Pro you will find 2 things re, Vcore
1. what you set in the BIOS you won't actually get but probably ~0.02V less - once you are aware of it it's easily compensated for.
2. with a heavily overclocked quad you will probably get ~0.08V idle>load droop.

the combo of 1 & 2 is a bit much.
What you can do is increase your Vcore to compensate for the Vdroop allowing C1E/EIST to lower it when idle (so that you don't overvolt).
or you can do the Vmod.

CPU VTT is the CPU Voltage Termination - raisng it will help you reach increased fsb

14 was taken of a board in retail but yes, it doesn't appear to be on the ftp.

Gary Key at Anandtech says that he has a BIOS that blows away the current publically available BIOS & will be releasing it when they do their P35 roundup if it isn't on abit's server by then.

speaking of memory timings, how do you get the board to use the EPP profile in the memory. I have Corsair 6400CL4 memory but it defaults to 5-5-5-15 timings at 1.8V. The EPP profile of the memory is 4-4-4-12 2T 2.1V. Currently I set this manually, I was under the impression that modern boards could autodetect the EPP timings.

official bios 11 :: System BIOS 07/09/07) lets you change command rate from 1t or 2t, but your ddr2 ram must be able to support 1t

thanks for the update there nelly :)

allso how can i find out if my ram will run in 1T mode?
if i remember on my old AMD setup 2 sticks of ram would do 1T mode and 4 sticks was 2T mode

i have just bought some new ram today aswell :)

How come its recommended that people only update their bios when they feel that they have to; to fix a problem. Surely I could just update to the latest version (v. 14) without any problems?

theres always a risk flashing the bios, no matter what way you do it. latest bios only fixes small probs. if your board runs good & nothing in latest bios that will help, why install it. if aint broke: dont fix it :)

Good point. I guess I won't bother, as my motherboard came with v. 11, which works perfectly fine.

Although, does anyone know much about "Update CPU micro code" (update in V. 12); and "Enhanced the S3 compatibility with abitEQ utility" (update in v. 14)?

Whats the highest FSB people have achieved with this board?
highest that I know of is 610 fsb but you need serious cooling for that - not air, not water - & of course a CPU that can do it too (rare).

How come when I go on the Abit site, the most recent version of the Bios I can find is v.11?

Edit: Looks like it's just been updated. Whoops
as you've found out the files usually appear on the ftp before the webpage is updated. ;)
