**Official ABIT IP-35 Pro Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

would i get any benifit if i crossfire my graphics card on this board as i have another, so would not cost anthing. IE Games :)

if you are running at high enough gfx settings that you are GPU limited then, yes you should see some improvement.
You want to look into Cf performance of the particular games that you play as some don't seem to scale well with Cf.

i put a new chip in my board the other day and since then i've had a lot of C1 boot errors (ie not detecting the memory). It seems to happen when the pc is off for an extended period of time. I've set all the correct voltages etc. I never once got this error with my old chip in. Any ideas what this may be??

What are the max safe voltages for things like MCH, ICH etc on this board. Going to start clocking soon and i want to know what voltage limits i have to play with.

Also, how do i turn of the Jmicron scan at the begining? Not running any IDE or eSata hardware so i don't need it to be enabled.

Hi guys. Whata great mobo this is!

Currently got the my Q6600 overclocked to 3Ghz without even much thought. Am looking to push it more as current temps on load are early 50c.
Anyone got some bios settings i should start off at in order to get 3.2Ghz and 3.4Ghz.
Im more interrested in what voltage settings i should use for each. (excuse if already mentioned)
Cheers

my 3.2Ghz settings
2.0v on RAM, 4-4-4-12 2T, 1:1 800Mhz.
CPU is at 400*8=3.2Ghz, Vmch = 1.33, Vtt = 1.31, Vcore = 1.4 (unlucky q6600, need 1.4 for 3.2Ghz) and all others at stock.

Nobody is overclocking with this board then? ;) :p

every system is different.
uGuru makes testing easy.

found out where to turn off the JMicron in the BIOS yet (clue, it's in the manual)?

I know every system is different, but there must be some average limit for a air cooled overclock.

I looked through the manual and i could swear i didn't see anything about JMircon being enabled/disabled. I'll have another look.

edit: Found it in the manual. Can't believe i missed it when i read through it the first time. :D

Well 3.4ghz with a Q6600 on this board is easiliy achieveable! All i did was increase the Vcore to 1.32v and set fsb to 378mhz * 9. I may even be able to get a lower Vcore! Only down side to this is that the mem runs 1:1 so its at 756mhz. May see about pushing to 3.6ghz as my temps with tuniq tower are still late 50c to early 60c dpending on room temp.

i got a prb and could do with some help
i got the rig listed below in my sig,
last night i tried to overclock it so set the fsb to 350 which meant it would be running at about 3150mhz i upped the power to the ram to 2.2V and everything seemed to be fine and pc was running fine. run prime95 and was going for about 10 mins with temps at about 45oC, then all of the sudden the pc rebooted. tried it again with prime 95 and same thing happened. Am i doing something wrong?

I'm having trouble getting my quad to 3.6, I'm at 3.5 now - 9 x 389 and memory is at 1:1 778Mhz.

At 3.5 its perfectly Prime stable, when I'm at 3.6 Prime fails or just freezes. My RAM is PC5300 so I'm not sure if its that which is holding it back? Could flashing my bios to the latest help as well?

Think you're right, PC5300 ram is rated to 667Mhz, you're running it over 100Mhz faster than that, get some faster ram if the extra 0.1GHz is important to you :D

depends on the CPU VID, my VID is 1.325v, so i need more than 1.6v for 3.6Ghz stable, and 1.5v for 3.4Ghz stable, 1.4v for 3.2Ghz stable.

My VID is 1.2750. For 3.5Ghz I'm using 1.4550, but to get 3.6Ghz stable it needs at least 1.5350 but the temp are just too high for my liking, might lap my CPU or try a different HSF, I'm a bit disappointed at the Tuniq.

What temps do you get at 1.5 vcore with your HSF?

a little more than 70 during Prime....... way too hot for me. (although temp DO have a large range of 8c)

but at 1.7v for 3.8Ghz, it only tops at 75c, TRUE is amazing at removing excessive heat.

IMHO, a Tuniq is only a few deg difference between TRUE at best, so you've pretty much got the best, don't need to change.
