**Official ABIT IP-35 Pro Review/Overclock/Guide Thread**

I won't need the audio, wifi, or raid drivers. Do i need the jmicron drivers? Do these get installed once the OS is loaded? And why is there two sets of them? What's the difference? :D
Good because it doesn't have WiFi :p

As to whether you need the JMicron drivers or not depend upon how you are going to configure the board.
I run all SATA so I have the JMicron disabled (which also speeds boot) so in that case, no you don't need them.
If you want to run the 2 eSATA ports on the JMicron then you probably do to allow for hot plugging.

On the IP35 it's tied to the CPU:RAM ratio as well.
My main PC unfortunately died over the holidays (think partial PSU failure) which currently denies me access to my stored info but I'll see if I can find a link somewhere to the info.

1333 strap 1:1, 1:1.2
1066 strap 1:1.25, 1:1.5
800 strap 1:1.66, 1:2.0

well, not on this board (quite possibly chipset as I believe that Asus P35s are configured the same way).
the 1333strap will let you reach a higher fsb though due to latencies & I guess that they do it this way because most people's limiting factor is their RAM's highest frequency.

Sure i saw Wifi drivers on the first page. :p

I won't need the esata and i have 2 sata hdds and one ide dvdrw.

Well the parts came. Just been reading the manual and it looks like i need the jmicron drivers as i have a ide optical drive. From what i can tell these are installed after the OS is installed. That right? Still not sure if i need to install drivers via floppy at the begining. Isn't this just for RAID?

Do i need both sets of jmicron drivers from the frontpage?

Anyone mind doing a run down of the exact installation? Haven't built a PC in 2 years and i'm sure it was easier than this. :p

Very Pleased With These Results

This board is great (when you get it right!) - currently running a Q6600 (Got it yesterday :D) with a TRUE at 412*9 to yield 3.7GHz (3.8 was too loud for the lounge :D).

Is a PWM temp of 72 too high?

Not too sound dumb but what exactly is this first driver for? Name doesn't exactly give it away.

JMicron Installation Disk V1.03 for 2000/XP/2003/64bit

Second one is for IDE and eSata?

JMicron SATA Driver V 1.17.31 for 2000/XP/2003/64bit

:)

Just got my new setup

E4500 @ 320x10 = 3200 (1.45/6 after vdroop) 75c max under prime (May need to reseat HS)

a question about RAID

I have 1 sata as my boot drive, I want to make 2 of my other drive Raid0 to install games on (will this make them load faster)

If yes to the above, how do I do it.

I have gone in to the bios set raid gone in to the said bios made the raid0. Gone back into the normal bois set my main drive as bootable.

But It BSOD very fast then reboots. (just wondering if its because they had my old vista install)

also where can I get boot files from to make a USB boot. I just need the files that would be on a floppy. (no floppy drive to make it)

do the latest BIOSs let you run BELOW 1.35vcore? My chip is rock solid but i wanted to lower the voltage to see how it went...but i can't.
recent abit BIOS set the lower Vcore level according to the individual installed CPU's VID -I guess that your CPU has a VID of 1.35V.

Hey guys, my Abit IP-35 Pro arrived yesterday from OCuk :D So I will be installing it today,

For the spec in my signature, albeit a newer PSU now (Zalman 850W) and 8800GT, which BIOS should I use? Should I download the latest one if it is not on there already?

Also, i'll be installing Vista 32-Bit Ultimate, should I use any of the drivers on the Abit CD? Or are they not needed?

Thanks :)
