Thanks timko, I was missing Verdana regular, installed it from the zip you sent and now NC launcher works :D

ggrrrr Font 'Arial' does not support style 'Bold' what is with Win 7 missing loads of fonts? Im running the RTM.

I'll try get this one off the net.

And my Overclockers Forum font has gone all tiny, I love Win 7 but it keeps fighting me :P

If only you posted that a few minutes quicker I could have got you the rest, I just powered down my Win7 rig :(

Anyway, Win7 doesn't have missing fonts. You must have installed something that decided to delete a few of them, perhaps on uninstallation.
 
Aion is now patching, got the last missing font off the net, thanks for your help.

Any idea why the font used to display text in this forum has changed?
 
The font here has not changed. If yours does not look like this image of your post above...

...then you've got more fonts missing. Next time I boot up my Win7 rig I will archive the entire fonts folder for you :)
 
Would appreciate some more character pictures and in action pictures and also if someone could give there own review of the game, that would be awesome.

So I bit the bullet and bought the game. Played for a little bit and got to level 6. It's promising so far, just going to take a little bit of getting use to.

Anyone else playing as an Asmodian on Castor?

Also, running everything on max using the spec in my sig and framerate is pretty good.

I'll continue playing through the day once the F1 is done and hopefully make some good progress.

As this is the error I get when I try to launch..

Message: Font 'Verdana' does not support style 'Regular'.

And indeed I do not have the "regular" Verdana font, just Bold, Bold Italic and Italic.

Playing on Windows 7 without any problems here. One thing I did run into though was the user agreement bug. It fixed itself after I tried logging in 4/5 times though.

Yeah thats what my font looks like now, before it was a much bolder typeface and very easy to read. Quite hard on my eyes now.

But OT for the Aion thread so if it becomes an issue i'll make a post in the windows section.

Thanks for the fonts you sent, Aion works now :) Wonder how long it would have taken NC Support to tell me a missing font was the problem.

I only noticed as it generates a log of the error, I even sent this to NC and they said install DX9 :eek:

You probably accidentally zoomed in on the web page and made the font bigger that way. If you're not already aware, most browsers let you hold down the Ctrl key and scroll forwards or backwards on the mousewheel to zoom in and out respectively :)

CliffyG is on Spatalos as Asmodian since that's where the OCuk Legion is :)
 
awesome, will try and persuade some fo my friends to come over! last OcUK guild/legion we did went very well on WoW. till Cliff left at least :(
there was no more talk about space docking! *sniff*
 
just looked at getting this through NC or steam, but £34.99 is a tad steep for a game that may follow the same path as many recent releases :(

Pretty standard price, selling the game cheap isn't going to increase its chances of success. The Korean version atleast will not be a failure due to NCSofts history so even if it isn't the most popular over here you can expect support for a while. NCSoft got rid of Tabula Rasa and Auto Assault but they were rubbish and made by American NC Soft, I assume this is from the Lineage2 people. I don't expect any game to overtake WoW for a while anyway. It is the first mmo to achieve full mass market popularity in the west but it is slowly getting old.

I don't seem to be able to even get in the queue at the moment after being disconnected. :(
