Near every review ive seen with the core at 1100 shows 3fps over what it was previous. Suppose it might now show an improvement in benchmarks of game compared to actual gameplay.

quite possibly, just my experience of watching the frame rate counter in 3dmark between stock and my o/c

OK just plugged in my 2nd 7990 into my rig, re built the entire machine , water loop for the cards and CPU and OS rebuild

Initial tests are not to bad.

Nearly 40k on graphics is nice though

My CPU 3930 @ 4.6 is probably bottlenecking the cards.

Managed to get them both to 1190/1700 overclocks under water

Lots of heat coming out of the 810 switch case.

BitCoin / Litecoin mining Sweet over 3,000 hashes

Don't think I will need to upgrade graphics cards for a while now

I shouldnt think so those will last you years. My 5870's in crossfire where still maxing out most games. This 7990 is a beast though.

Hope so, just re-installing Crysis 3 for a bit of a full res bash

How hot do your 7990's run on air when in game?
Mine idle at about 29-31 degrees at the moment but in game there going up to about 80 unless i put vsync on then around 60-70.

Sounds normal, vsync is not pushing the card so much with as many frame rates.

Having problems with my 2x7990 cards under water Bitcoin mining 24/7

It was dumping a lot of heat into the room making the ambient and hence cooling really problematic.

My airflow is such that the only exhaust is through the NZXT 810 roof triple radiator so a bit of cardboard and gaffer tape has come up with this attached to the removeable 810 top grill

Proper bodge job, but seems to be working with the hot exhaust pushed out of an open window and ambient temps dropping as I speak

Might make a proper one next with a fan to push the air out seeing as the prototype seems to be working as expected.

Wonder if there is a market for this

More bodging on the prototype.

Not efficient enough as the heat was not escaping the rad quickly enough and so to speak was "bottlenecking" it. So 10 mins later and a fan added to the duct to push out the air.

2 windows open I like it cool. Last night it got down to 7 degrees inside, tonight outside temp is 6 degrees but no air movement, so inside is 16 degrees. Struggling. The rest of the house is good tho, nice and warm.

I need more rad space, so going to swap out the 240 for a 240 monsta rad. I can now move the heat, just need to get the temps down a bit.

If it works, will fashion a proper version instead of a Cellotape version

Bad luck on the card delivery, probably could not find the reception, hospitals can be a right pain especially if u are delivering and not "parking" Gotta love delivery drivers eh.... Expecting 2 deliveries tomorrow myself. Hope they don't mess me around.

Managing now to keep the worst card down to 75 degrees under water at ambient of 16 degrees. Definitely need more rad space as I always expected.

Yes I would say so, GPU + 7990 stuggles badly on a 240 rad, been there done it.

but i dont like tower cases...i like the haf xb if it supported watercooling without modding and didnt look so ugly
the corsair 540 would be perfect if it was oriented like the haf xb =s

Hey guys - Just got my 7990 today and been clocking it this evening. So far am on 1.18V and 1185/1575 on the stock cooler. The slider won't go any further for the memory in Afterburner. What tools are you guys using to push past 1575?

Am using the 13.11 drivers and MSI afterburner 3.0.0.16

Go to settings in AB and set "extend official overclocking" and also switch off UPLS as well with powerplay support. Reboot try again.

Also useful to ensure you have treat similar GPU's the same. Have a look around the settings of AB.

Check that Catalyst has frame pacing on, search around you will find it.

this case takes my fancy at the moment, definite support for 240mm thin rad, if the front can fit another 240mm rad without much modding, i think this'll be my next case

I was running my CPU and 1x7990 with a normal width 360 and 240 rad and was getting about 60 degrees if I ran GPU's 100% for about 10 mins with bitcoin mining. Under benches like heaven, about 55

Anyone?? You guys using Asus GPU Tweak instead of MSI Afterburner?

nah AB is the best.

For benching I use 1.3v under water, normally for games I run stock, but I do have 2 of them under water.

Anyone else having issues with BF4? Mine seems to be crashing with out of memory errors after about 5 minutes. When I check afterburner it's showing gpu memory usage @ 3500mb.

This is at 1080p Ultra settings, that can't be right...is there a memory leak?

Have u got the latest catalyst drivers ?

Are u overclocked, if so reduce oc on memory

How did you get your mem to clock past 1575? That's the highest the slider would go for me in AB. + no mem voltage

1725 under water is my max. Can't change mem voltage yet. Read my lists above, go to ab settings and tick official overclocks. Make sure on latest ab

Seems i cant take the core past 1100 without it locking up in 3dmark...Managed to take the memory to 1650 though on default voltage and could probably take it further. Seems like a good overclock overall.
