***official amd 83x0 overclocking thread***

Been playing. Not bad for a 8320 huh? :D

And my new stable clocks.

Bear in mind I'm completely new to this. I'm sure I could go higher stable.

Some nice low volts there care to share your bios settings ?

TBH (and it was time I confessed pmsl) I let the board do 99% of it for me. There are two drop down settings for overclocking. I set it to the second, then without realising what it had done set the MP to what I thought was 4.4ghz.

I ended up in Windows with the 5.07 :D hahaha. From there? just a few tweeks to the multi and FSB and volts.

But this is a sick chip I have here. Its ability to do what it does on really low volts makes me think this was either a failed Centurion or they simply boxed it as a 8320 to make stock levels. When I ordered it it said in stock but then it changed to "usually ships in 4-7 days". It took over a week to get it, but it must be a new batch as it's in some nasty cardboard box.

Either that or it's down to the board. There's no equivalent on AMD tbh.

I'll try and get some bios pics later :)

Nice one, my chip was cardboard boxed too, but it takes silly volts to get stable above 4.8 must confess I have not let the bios do it's thing yet maybe I should.

There is also a bios update for my board to support the 99xx series chips so I might update it.

Looks like I might have to compromise between silence and performance.

At 4.9 it's full power to everything to keep cool, and at 4.8 I can wind down the pump and fans a bit.

My 5.0Ghz 24/7 might be pie in the sky but I will keep at it.

I've got Cougar Vortex fans on mine. Pretty much the best static pressure fans on earth right now, but man they're not cheap !!

I got mine used for £20 but they were mint and boxed. They're £20 each elsewhere :(

Just plugging in and setting up the 8350 now. Liking the Asus board although due to the PCI-E spacing I could not run a pair of 7970 Matrix cards in my case on the 16x slots which is a bit of a bummer. Although tbh even on my intel board they would be sat on top of each other.

All good fun.

Hmm I thought they were 16x all the way down to the 4x lane?

I'm running 16x 4x on mine with Hypersli as I can't fit my Revodrive otherwise.

I've just purchased a CHVFZ along with an 8350. Looking at getting it all installed as soon as my PSU and RAM arrive. Can't wait to get this all up and running :D

That fan over the vrms sucking? And how is it being held up? I have a spare 120 from my old machine I'm thinking of using on my gigabyte ud3 as the vrms on it get very hot.
