***official amd 83x0 overclocking thread***

Its sat on the stock fan and blowing. Only there whilst the board is sat on the box. Once installed my Dark Rock 2 will be installed if I find the ruddy mounting bracket....
 
I've been raping Sky boxes lmao. Five 500gb Seagate Pipeline long lifers. Not cost me a penny of yet :D I'm running a PCIE Revodrive which is a bit of a PITA with triple slot cards as it's forced me down to an X4 lane. Mind you, my results are about 1% less than 16x 16x in what I've tested it in and my 3dmark 13 score actually went up lmao.

But yeah I always have loads. Eggs and baskets.. Four of them are basically mirrors of each other (not RAID mirrors just where I dump data).
 
Does anyone have some OC settings. I just tried the guide posted above for 4.8Ghz but it froze the computer and I had to reset the bios to get it to come back.

I don't seem to be able to do much at all with voltage adjustments before it goes into meltdown. The temps still seem ok so I'm pretty sure I'm either missing something or doing something wrong.

I had that !! it's a setting of some sort somewhere dude.

I would enable the level 2 thing. I think that's what sets everything up for you. Reboot on stock volts, then go to work.

I'll try and shoot a video later of all my settings for you, or at least some pics. Very busy atm can't get to desktop :)

I have the board sitting pretty until the CPU waterblock arrives tomorrow. Will then see if a single Phobya Xtreme 200mm rad is enough to cool the 8320. Kind of hoping it will as will have it in push/pull with 2 bitfenix spectre pro 200mm fans. As I had the rad as spare, it was either a case of using it or buy an all in one like an H100/H110/H100i. Only putting the CPU in the loop.
 
Right here you go fellas. Please note : you must select CPU Level Up 2 and then save and reboot before you continue. Also, I think you need to enable Extreme OV (or over volt) to stop it panicking when you add volts.

Though enabling CPU Level Up 2 should do what you need to be done in there. Note though I have virtualisation re-enabled because otherwise SLI has to run Software in HyperSLI which stops games like Crysis 3 from working.

MOOGLEYS. As I mentioned a page or two back I had exactly the same thing happen to me mate. IIRC in the end I just reset the bios and walked away for a bit. I'm not sure what caused or causes it but it should go away. I recall reading in the review that the reviewer had the same issue.

I will ask Bindi on BT about it later, see if he knows what causes it :)
 
And Moogley... Keep a close eye on the top left and what it says in Yellow as CPU Level Up is like an auto overclock that sets up everything you need sorted for overclocking. Just use that, see what it does, then add to it if that makes sense.

I enabled it and didn't save and reboot. I then added my own overclock on top of what it had already done. That was how I got the initial 5.07 it was a complete accident lol.
