***official amd 83x0 overclocking thread***

bah, thats not good :( i'll give them a good going over. actually i'll just connect a psu tester at work and throw a cheap crappy psu on to test them :D

edit: where did you get yours from?

Just follow each cable and check it corresponds to the plug out the PSU.

My GPU dropping issue has now been fixed. The latest AMD beta drivers fixed it.

I have backed my CPU down to 4.6Ghz for 24/7 as it runs nice and cool with low volts and makes no noticeable difference in game.

All running nice now. :)

Woohoo glad to hear it man ! I'm only getting 52c in Crysis 3 @ 4.8.

Makes a change, I always lose the lottery lol.

Well since I put my amd rig together about a week ago now, its been rock solid, I havent tried to go past 4.8ghz yet because I havent had time.

I need to upgrade my Crossfired HD6850's and I was thinking would the R9 270X with an eye on adding a second in the future be worthwhile or should I just go for a 7970/280X?

I have definitely hit my thermal limit. Just tried going a bit more and had a nice warning come up saying "Your CPU is about to implode captain". :)

I think I will be happy with 5Ghz and who knows I might water cool at some point although I have never really been into that.

Good chip, and good clocking to get 5@ under 1.5v!

what temps are you getting on prime?

either the matrix 7970 or the sapphire toxic 280X I'd go for.

Any heads up on the Sabertooth (how many users with this)?

Also my PSU is a few years old dont tell me I am missing connectors please..

I'm running the Sabertooth R1, and it's been ace, can't fault it.

Mentioned this earlier, but the Evo R2 Sabertooth would be worth trying to find, as it's the only board that has PCIe 3.0.
