***official amd 83x0 overclocking thread***

have you run fire strike, Elfmeister? your spec looks so similar to mine i wonder how our scores would compare

No not heard of that one, I'll download it. I literally only clocked it last night, so still having a tinker and yet to run any benchmarks yet.

The 8th core failing within seconds of a Large FFT Prime. Anyone have any ideas why it only occurs on the 8th?

What CPU/NB voltage is everybody using?
1.250

fire strike is on part of the latest from 3dmark :)

id guess your 8th core would be the weakest.. but i dont know

Gah, still getting bloody display driver BSOD crashes in Crysis 2. Knocked clocks down 1100/1300 which I thought had fixed it.

So weird that I was running 1200/1400 with my fx4100

Got another crash dump, clock_watchdog_timeout - making me wonder if I either have a rogue core that is weaker than the rest or win 8 and it's sucky drivers are causing the instabilities.

hey dude sorry to hear about your clocking woes. I brought windows 8 for missus laptop tried it on here and found it was terrible my overclock was all over the place and 4.8ghz was a no go, i had no end of trouble with it,
Its got a long way to go before i would consider using it again cant be windows 7 ultimate for me

on the core issue is it always the same one that fails? to check use speed fan as it shows all cores under load and u will see which one drops out, just a thought cause if its same one could be bad core
