*** Official AMD Phenom II X6 1055T & 1090T Overclocking Thread ***

Id be interested for someone to try reseting to defaults with a phenom ii x6 and running prime for 24 hrs. I got a feeling it wont pass.

Its not designed for that. Thermally anyway.

Min are about that difference too under load altho currently (idle):

CPU: 30*C
Core: 17*C
Ambient (i have a digital thermometer): 15*C

Oh and just a side note, HWMonitor reads just about EVERY reading wrong for me :( (all voltages wrong, all fan speeds wrong, TMPIN1 and 2 exactly same) Im using everest to report temps.

now he tells me .. lmao ... grrrr

anyway BIOS was reading vcore as default 1.475 HWMonitor reads 1.49 so i have undervolted (if thats the right term) so the BIOS sets vcore @ 1.45 and HWMonitor reads 1.47

using a 0.15v drop lowers my highest temp by 2C so far when IBT at High 20 runs (if thats 0.15 or is it 0.25 .. darn nothing gives the same blooming readins)

It'd pass fine lol.

Should do, but without LLC, Im just thinking with vdroop, etc.

It would prob fail with stock cooler, altho got to admit i was pleasantly suprised with its effeciency for normqal use.

Just thinking out loud here, cus desktop CPUs arent designed to run 24 hrs flat out stress testing, server chips are usually the ones rated for constant full load.

So not saying it wont, im just interested :)

 aint got a clue which app is reporting things correctly but lets just say theres isnt a lot of consistancy among them

now running BIOS set vcore of 1.45v but cpuz and HWMonitor ( i know same software lol ) both read the vcore peaking @ 1.47 which in theory is the correct VID

with slighty lower vcore IBT stable after 20 runs on standard and 20 runs of high and stable after 1 hour OCCT

now just need to get primed for a few hours and hope temps stay roughly where they are during the hottest part of the day

Keeping a close eye on all of this, as this is what my next rig will be based upon,
got to be a big step up from my 3800+ x2 939 lol. Was going i7 930 before this chip came out but wanted to stay loyal to amd. Keep up the good work.

got to agree with gareth170 on this one :D

4Ghz easy here just by upping the multi to 20X ... just have to be careful with airflow in your case and what cooler you use as they seem to default volts to 1.475vcore with some boards overvolting

If I can get 4Ghz stable by changing one item in the BIOS then anyone can do it with good cooling and a resonable motherboard  coz me is very much the noob of noobs

IBT 20 runs standard - Pass
IBT 20 runs high - Pass
OCCT default 1 hour - Pass
