*** Official AMD Phenom II X6 1055T & 1090T Overclocking Thread ***

It looks like my cpu is throttling, it happens around 49/50c, no temp controls in bios

maybe worth checking your cpu with cpuz open and temp reader to see if your is the same

well I have C&Q enabled so :p

no throtterling but multi clocks down to 4X when idle

1 hour OCCT followed by
1 hour Linpack followed by
20 runs IBT on high
all passed and now ....
3 hours 30 mins prime blend

cpu 1090T @ 4Ghz vcore 1.475 NB @ 3Ghz 1.375v 4GB DDR3 @ 1333 9-9-9-24 2T @ 1.65v

temps the same as have been last day or so - room abient also the same between 24.5C & 26C

fingers legs and eyes are croseed for an 8hour prime stable today

Not the cpu temp casuing my throttling, but pwm, I had stated in the thread earlier that they were getting really warm and had sinked them, as I had the board on the bench I had also a fan blowing directly onto the area. Now in the case I just had them passive cooled, just stuck 2x60mm fans on them and now no throttling as you can see.

Hating the chip more and more every day.
My previous stable settings are no longer stable, despite the fact it's now cooler than it was previous...

I'm going back to the drawing board (I.E stock).
I'll do 200 MHZ a day at 14 hour Prime Stable, get it to 3.8GHZ, leave it.

Wait till a revised Thuban and go black edition lol.

sorry to hear that martini.

Just finished my last 24hour prime stress test:

I'm finally fully stable with a 24/7 permanant setup :
CPU temp hits 57Degrees C tops under full load (47 in AOD/coretemp) - idles about 30Degrees C (Asus Prob/HWMonitor).
CPU: 200x20=4Ghz @ 1.42v (BIOS) - CPU-Z reads 1.46v
CPU/NB: 2400Mhz @ 1.2v HTT:2000Mhz@stock
4 x 2Gb Corsair DDR3 @ 1600Mhz 9-9-9-24/[email protected] (stock)

Its wierd as time has passed by this chip has got slightly better / cooler!.

Somepoint in the future I may push the CPU/NB up a tad further but for now am more than happy with what I have. no more messing time to game :)

me knows nuttin .. but

isnt expecting a chip 400Mhz slower @ stock and with a locked multi always gonna be a slight challenge to match its bigger brother clock for clock 24/7 ?

3.8Ghz stable 24/7 on a 1055 has gotta be pretty impresive and isnt that far behind ..

out of curiosity are the Phenoms X6 rated to run 1600Mhz ram officially ? and would it actually show in real world performance over 1333Mhz ram (timings aside) ?

approaching 6 hours 30 mins prime95 blend stable here and getting painful crossing everything .. and I mean everything  I may speak with a high pitch voice after today .. lmao

guess Im best leaving my ram @ 1333 as at least its running ... everytime I try 1600 the pc just freezes up after a while .. ram is rated by Corsair for 1600 but on their forums they say only run it @1333 .. confusing or what .. lol

which RAM do you have cozman? Corsair said to me to run it at 1333 too but I found that if I forced manual stock settings and upped the CPU-NB voltage slightly I can run it no problem - If I can do it with 4 x 2 Gb (which puts more strain on the IMC) you should be able to too.

PS - I have 4 x Corsair CMX4GX3M2A1600C9 - and both kits are different revisions (one is 1.9 and the other is 2.1)

TW3X4G1600C9D G

I searched the ram on Corsair site and every post that asked about getting it to run 1600 on AMD Ram Guy or others replied to keep it 1333 on AMD systems .. mines never been stable when ever I have tried 1600 though last night I tried and OCCT failed on one core 2 seconds from the 1 hour test end and a second time 1 second from test end .. grrr .. lol

today not taking a chance running ram @ 1333 and upped NB voltage another notch .. strangest thing is temps have only peaked 1C higher so far .. woo hooo 7 Hours into prime .. hold ya breath the countdown begins .. 59 mins .. lmao

I will happily keep 1333Mhz if the system passes 8 hours prime today :D

up the ram voltage alittle.

my ram is rated at 1600 cl7 1.7v but it doesn't work at that voltage...

it needs 1.75v to be 90% stable and 1.8v to be 95% stable

Well.
I'm going for a 14 hour (Longer maybe?) Prime 95 blend.
240 x 12.5 multi = 3000MHZ
2400 MHZ HTT/NB
1600MHZ RAM @ 8-8-8-24-25-1T

Could do with my mam not keeping the heating on.. I can see this getting to 48c on the CPU.

:D

I hereby lay claim to the stable system certificate as follows -

Congratulations your PC system has passed stability for the average everyday variable use for the average everyday period of 12-15 hours.

Todays Event Log :

PC uptime .. approaching 12 hours +
Final system specs as listed below

1 Hour of OCCT default test PASSED
1 system reboot into BIOS to change memory from 1600MHz to 1333MHz and set NB @ 1.375v as reported in BIOS
1 Hour of OCCT default test PASSED
1 Hour of OCCT Linpack test PASSED
20 Runs of IBT on high setting PASSED
since 10:39am running Prime95 blend test NO ERRORS YET approaching 8 hours 30 mins

System Spec
AMD X6 1090T @ 200x20 = 4Ghz 1.450v (in BIOS) CPU-Z reports 1.47v
NB Frequency @ 3000 1.375v (reported in BIOS)
2X2GB Corsair Dominator @1333Mhz timings 9-9-9-24/2T 1.65v
Gigabyte 790FX UD5P Motherboard
Primary HDD Corsair X128 firmware v2.0
ATi Radeon HD5870
other various unimportant bits n bobs

So anything else I should know ... are the settings OK or volts too high ?

and dont nobody say push it higher .. lol

will cinebench in a few to see if NB makes any diff to previous test

dont know and dont even know what it is.. lol

doesnt seem to make any difference to system stability .. did you try google it see if anyone knows what its even reading ?

EDIT
suggestions during search is TMPIN2 is the NB temp ... oops maybe mine should be dropped back now

Last edited:
all i can say for sure is its somehow linked to TMPIN1 as they both drop dramatically when system idles ..

cant smell burning and i cant see any smoke rising ...

dont know if to leave NB @ 3Ghz now or drop it back ... but my TMPIN2 has always been 5C-10C higher than TMPIN1

maybe 16C is pushing a bit too hard

OK well i have stop prime @ 8hours 37 minutes - 0 errors 0 warnings :)
