And just checked, the cpu voltage reading in cpuz is bang on, within 0.01v of what my multi meter reads from the "probit" points.
Can you check DDR Voltage, I haven't got a multimeter, want to see if these Asus boards overvolt the Ram like some of their Intel boards. :)

well I have hit 2 hours prime stable ... enough stressing it and me for the day I think

I will continue to prime it tomorrow for longer and hopefully there will be more to compare too by then

now to try a quick game or a movie encode and watch it go boooooom .. lol

Wow, got some serious heat coming off back of the H50, glad its not blowing in!

Who needs central heating when you got stress tests! :D

The core temperature isnt budging of 50*C tho, hops up to 51/52 when i take side off to read voltages, but otherwise, really impressed. And Asus Q-fan works perfect on Turbo too.

700rpm idle, 1700 rpm (full speed) when it reaches 60*C for the "cpu" temp.

I take it the 62*C that AMD refers to is the core temp? Cus thats the temp they use for cpu status in AOD.

Good news for encoders :D

running @ 4GHZ encoding a TV DVD 1 hour episode to x264 reporting gonna take 20mins .. huge improvement over the 965 and at a guesstimate something along the lines of a 40% boost over an i7 920 at 3.3Ghz

dont hold me to those figures though

Forgot to mention temps are at 51C for maxing out the encode

EDIT ... actual time taken to encode 17mins 43 seconds ... makes me chuffed and happy to have upgraded ... no stability problems either now just to decide wether to leave at 4Ghz and up the ram to 1333 .. questions to ponder

what sort of cooler would you guys have for this...as I m tempted to sell my LGA775 stuff and go AMD but keep the titan fenir
The Fenrir is virtually same performance as the H50 as far as I'm aware, I would stick with that for now, you can always get something better later on if needs require.

having a quick play now back from work
stock volts,the rest to auto.
any advice welcome please.

Morning All

Bad news ... PC wouldnt boot into Win7 this morning (no changes made from shutdown last night)

So quickly downed multi to 19X for 3.8Ghz Bios defaulted VCore to 1.3v and I upped ram to 1600 ... prime failed and comp black screened .. so ram is now at 1333 as i think that was the issue but may need to up the voltage a bit too

Definately think the Beta Bios is flaky and might improve things

opinions on ram ... better to run 1066 @ 7-7-7-20 or 1333 @ 9-9-9-25 ?

will play more with clocking later but got a busy morning ahead

Cozzy

Interesting OC CPU for a low price, can you say me Total time/Rating time when speed is tested with my integer benchmark http://www.speedtraq.com

Hi

currently only running @ 3.6 for all cores and turbo core on @4 Ghz but not tested for stability in any way

SpeedTraq results:

Version: 0.0.0.6
.NET version: v2.0.50727

CPU cores: 6
CPU brand: AuthenticAMD
CPU name: AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1090T Processor
CPU stepping: AMD64 Family 16 Model 10 Stepping 0
CPU speed: 3214MHz

Threads: 6

Total time: 4.845 sec.

Rating time: 26.918x (*)
Rating calc.: 13.64x (*)

Verify code: 1799706124

(*) relative to single core Intel(R) Atom(TM) N270 1,60GHz

hope thats what you wanted ... will try getting PC stable at higher clock later but gonna work it up slowly as this is a very flaky beta bios that is doing wierd things to timings and volts

a quick question for you experts ....

CPUz is reporting my ram is running 535.7Mhz FSB Dram 3.8 7-7-7-20 with bank cycle 2t and command rate of 1T

could the ram be boogie up the clock as Im sure its rated command rate is 2T ... or just being reported wrong .. most apps are having some issues getting info from chip and board reliably

EDIT : think I answered my own question ... set ram timings manually to 1333 9-9-9-24 command rate 2T and cpu multi @ 20X upped cpucore volts to 1.52 and Im back @4Ghz in Win7

Yes thanks, I guess this score is round i7 CPU 920 2.67GHz at stock speed.

Did you increased CPU clock speed after boot, because it show 3.2GHz and SpeedTraq can probably only detect CPU speed as it was at boot time?

yeah cpu was clocked @ 3.6 for all cores for that run .. but motherboard is on a flaky beta bios that keeps giving different readings and settings everytime I go into the BIOS

currently running prime @ 4Ghz and will re run your app if stable after a couple of hours

Good luck Gareth170 .... remember the UD5P is setting some weird volts and memory settings
