*** Official AMD Phenom II X6 1055T & 1090T Overclocking Thread ***

Yeah Im definetly pleased so far with my purchase, got some more testing to do atm, but Im finding that OCing my 5870, seems to be making little difference, I found bigger differences OCing my Q6600 last time. I thought the Phenom with its HT link might alleviate the bottleneck a bit, but doesnt seem to have made much difference in some games. Its like somethings bottlenecking but im not sure what.

Need to have ago with 4 GHz, see how that changes things. Problem is Im going away fri-tuesday and am busy most of 2moro. Typical!

Getting toasty now ... motherboard is overvolting a little by default so warmer a smidgen too

How do you guys know where to start with voltage when you cant even get an idea of what it uses stock due to the way it jumps around?

Do you just whack AOD up to 1.425v and multi to 20 and work down?

well technically speaking as I didnt change anything in my BIOS then I can claim ... 4GHz on stock volts :D:D:D

think the stock volts is 1.3v for the 1090T @stock clocks so thats the starting point .. most reviews claimed to hit 4Ghz at around 1.42v so i suppose thats where we all got the idea thats the point to aim for

50mina here on stock volts (1.49v is mb default) and temps hit 55C at most but are dropping as ambiant temp drops

Being a complete noob to clocking unless someone provides the settings in writing for me to copy Im probably not the right person to give advice LOL .. but as Im not doing much else waiting for prime to fail

1.27v is what my mobo sets, altho even with CnQ turned off, I see it jumping up to 1.43v every now and then.

Tried just turning off Turbo Core and setting multi to 20x, got an instan reboot when i hit apply, lol.

Im new and kinda lost to AMD OCing, lol. Alho my main problem is just knowing where to start with voltage, dont want to burn my little chip :P

anyone done much playing with the 1055? what are these chips reaching and getting temp wise?
i have this motheboard and was wondering will it have the turbo option in bios?

i have updated the bios to support the chip aswell.
installed before leaving for work tonight and temps are about 21 to 26 idle

I don't like my chip lol.
But the IMC's a darnsite stronger than any 965 I've used.

Ok just tried 1.42v, altho cpu-z only showed about 1.35v, thats just vdroop right?

I got a BSOD after 5 mins, I take it just keep upping voltage to hopefully find a stable clock? Just not sure how far to push it tis all.

best way to do it is go in the bios make sure CnQ is off then go in windows and load core temp to see to stock vid..

well the Gigabyte BIOS has stock volts of 1.475 when using AUTO setting but also in the list is a CPU VIN or something similar that on AUTO sets 0.025 .. hence why the UD5P gives a stock (on AUTO unchanged) 1.49v

so far so good but it has added 3C to max temp recorded compared to previous attempt and the cpu is actually hitting 55C regualary though does dip to 51/52C every now and then

will leave as is .. prime for a little while longer tonight then let it sleep and give it a lengthy prime tomorrow during normal daytime abiant temps

My stock VID is 1.27v

with VID at 1.425v in AOD, and LLC enabled, cpu-z now reads about 1.45v. So its overvolting a bit, altho, unless i get my multimeter out i cant tell for sure what it is.

Also, with Turbo Core, CnQ, C1E all disabled in the BIOS, is it right that it still downclocks to 800MHz when idle?

Gareth.
Nothing's really reporting correctly yet.
One version of core temp says 1.475v, another says 1.375v.
I used to downclock, even with everything disabled, at the moment I don't.
And this Vdroop is a pain..

i really hope i don't get a 1.475v stock vid chip....

errr not sure if thats the chip VID or just the beta BIOS defaulting to that .. but that is what the m/b auto set when I turned off turbo core and set the multi to 20X .. might be an inbuilt profile as Overdrive auto selected 1.475 for the Turbo core setting of 20X as well within Win7

funky things these chips .. seem to have a mind of there own :D

Well mine still downclocks to 800 when idle for some reason, maybe cus i have auto for the multi in the bios?

Disabling CnQ has stopped voltage jumping tho.

And just checked, the cpu voltage reading in cpuz is bang on, within 0.01v of what my multi meter reads from the "probit" points.
