*Official* Antec P182 Case's,Builds,Modifications & FAQ's

On a scale of 1-10 (1 being ****, 10 being awesome), how good do you guys think my P190 cabling is?

Hi, err would anyone be able to tell me how the P182 compares to the Antec 300, in terms of cooling and noise? Does the P182 have HDD rubber cushioning
or similar?

I just wondered if the P182 is worth the extra price...

Front what I can see:
300 - Nice exterior, cheap, front grille, 140mm fan, but no removable bays or divider
P182 - Nice interior, removable bays, divider, but no big front grille and more expensive

Would possibly be used with an Asus P5Q Pro and Tuniq Tower 120, if they will fit.
Thanks for any impressions :)

The P182 has rubber mounts on both of the harddrive cages.
Yeah the the P182 is worth the price if you have the extra dosh to get it, but im also planning to get the Antec 300 as im more on a budget. But both have got great ratings interms of price/performance.

Just realised I didn't post many pictures of my P182 here so there ya go, verty happy with this case, almost perfect in most respects, just wished there was a bit more of a gap between the lower part of the motherboard and the case floor, also wished there was a blowhole of some sort to help with the GPU.

I have five 120mm fans installed, one of them is in the Kama bay which works really well in the top of this case, so much in fact I don't need a fan on my CPU heatsink while running moderate overclocks (that's with all fans on low/minimum). The motherboard and memory are also kept really cool (mobo is normally about 27°C degree which is great!).

Still work in progress and will hopefully have it finished soon lol! :D

Thanks wuyanxu, yes Sony Cybershot pics have been run through Photoshop! :o

I'm not sure how the Kama bay affects temps as it was installed at the time of first build but that along with no obstructions to air flow keep an overclocked motherboard around 25°C which is amazing considering the case is closed and under my desk.

The Kama fan is pretty good, nice and quite with good airflow but I removed the sponge filter that came with it and now have to wipe the dust that collects on the exterior metal-mesh every week!

The Optical drive is in an ideal position airflow wise but its directly below the kama bay which as mentioned collects dust on the outside so when I open the optical drive its in danger of having globs of dust fall into it, hence why I keep cleaning the outside lol.

Only fix for that would be to move the optical drive to the very top of the case I guess?

P182 is the best case I've used to date but it needs a little more work to get the GPU temps down, maybe I will get a 120mm blowhole cut?

During the week whilst I was on holiday I received a new front door panel (and hinge) for my P182. I was just wondering if there is an easy way to remove the old panel with hinge? Do I just yank it off or is there some technique I should use?

Help :)

Right WTF. I have just installed the new door on my P182 and its different to my old one. My old one has a "grainy" kinda of look to the gun metal part which I think looked cool. However if say I moved my finger nail across it, it would leave a "scratch" looking line (kinda sanding down my finger nail), and would dissapear once rubbed with a duster.

Also, a darker "grainy" look is on the inside of the door on my old one, which moving my finger nail across would also leave the same mark. The new door however looks like the side panel exactly and has a smooth black inside door panel which feels like plastic - the old one feels like metal on the inside too?

Any one else experienced this or have the "grainy" look door?

Kama bay is a bit fiddly but if you look closely at the case pic you can spot some transparent cable ties that hold the Kama legs in place. I'm not sure if I have fitted the Kama and Optical drive correctly though as they stick out a little? Will maybe adjust that next time I have the machine apart, it's not causing a problem though but guess it may be smarter with a flush fit?

Not familiar with the lian li bay coolers? Thought the Kama bay was a good price considering it includes a decent fan.

You have mounted them wrong, they are flush on mine. You need to adjust which screw hole they are mounted on.
