*******Official Armed Assault 2 thread of official officialness*******

One thing that is rly ****ing me off now is the random quits to desktop / stop responding. Three times now I have been hosting missions with mates, getting rly into it, only for my game to terminate. Am on vista64 but running in xp comp with -winxp command. Very frustrating.

I had to back of my cpu OC a tad even though it was fine with 12hrs of orthos. Arma2 sure gives your rig a good test for stability. The only thing that gets me down with this game at the moment is the amount of TK. I got TK by the same person 3 times. I think it might be usefull for a while to have a script line to remind newbie's to use there space bar to ID targats before letting rip.

If you're playing Domination or similar, try to get people to use the Team Status menu to squad up. That way you'll get a diamond over every friendly team mate and it helps the noobs stop TKing. :)

just a quick point that i dont think anyone has mentioned yet (maybe im just "special"...) is that i have been having a few problems with id'ing people with spacebar only to find out its a badguy, and so fire my weapon, but the spacebar menu is still up so i end up saying "roger" whilst getting shot through the face. The spacebar thing does seem to stop me getting any TK's but it also prevents me from surviving a close quarters fight.

Longer range its obviously easier because theres less chance of the enemy reacting so quickly, but its still affecting my scoring!

but that would mean right clicking before i can shoot someone - 2 clicks per shot! the only alternative i suppose is to skulk in the bushes :D

I agree, and it also has the disadvantage of losing the zoom you had when you spotted the target, so you have to right click twice (3 times if switching to the sights) before getting an accurate shot. It is a stupid system.

Just got my new pc and gave this a whirl, I'm very disappointed with the performance, I can't seem to get it at 30-40 average fps even on normal to high settings at 1920 x 1080. Is this right? Is there something I'm missing?

I'm running windows 7 64bit, 4890xt, i7 920 @ 2.67 and 6gb ram?

spot on. im having the exact same issue and its annoying

You can hold spacebar for it to disappear when you release, tapping spacebar keeps the menu up and you will have to tap it again to get rid of it.

Aye good times on the OCUK server. Was quite good last night but was amazing in parts on Sunday evening. I remember being in a forrest on a steep hillside getting fired at from a tank, the panic from everyone was hilarious as we all scattered!!

Shoot first, ask questions later ;)

Get that chip above 3.5GHz and u should notice a BIG difference! Changing gfx settings other than resolution doesnt make much difference to fps.

Which graphics drivers are you running, because I have heard the latest Beta ones have improvements for Arma2?
