I've been very tempted to download this, but think I'll wait for the official uk release :)

If I order from the rainforest, will I get the item delivered on the date of release? or will it arrive the day after?

Regarding the settings you were asking about. I have my speed just slightly increased to 1.1 and smoothness up to almost maximum. This helped the most. I also disable the zoom axis and keep that to the right mouse button. There's virtually no dead zone as well.

It does take a bit to get used to but it's worth sticking with. I do find myself in other FPS games moving my head the way I do in ArmA and totally forgetting it's not on. The advantages of using it in this game are well worth it...especially useful for snipers in online MP. ;)
 
Is anyone here having issues with 8GB of ram combined with an Ati card for ArmA 2?


I've found this recent ram upgrade to be the cause of issues with ArmA and wondered if anyone's getting it with 2 as well.
 
Just ordered trackir 5 with pro clip from rcsims :D I know I should have called first to see if they have any stock. But I want it ordered and if they don't have any then I'll be next in line for the next lot of stock.

When i have ordered new releases from them they arrive on the day of release, except a DVD i ordered which actually arrived through my door the day BEFORE release! here's keeping my fingers crossed.

Wait, so that is an issue with ArmA 2 as well?

FFS, that's the reason I didn't get ArmA, because I'm not getting rid of a GB of ram just so I can play one game. Is there any hope that it will be fixed in a patch?
 
Just so you know RCsims have emailed and acknowledged my order, but they are out of stock. More are being delivered from the states and should arrive in 5-7 days :(

I hate waiting.

My ARMA boots okay with 4GB of RAM and 2GB of Graphics RAM on 64 Bit Vista on the latest patched version.

I can't imagine the problem would still be about in ARMA 2!

Edit: Oh , didn't realise it was as specific as requiring an ATI card...

If it requires an ATI card, then I'm all right. If it was fixed in a patch then I can't see it being a problem this time round, it was just the demo never worked, and I didn't want to risk getting the game and finding it had the same problem.

Hopefully the demo will be out today or tomorrow and I can test it then.
 
Yeah the ARMA 1 demo never worked for me either but someone assured me it would work if I bought the game and patched it, and it did, so you should be okay anyway.

I'm waiting for the ARMA 2 demo as well, should be interesting.
 
I loved the original OFP. Band of Comrades : Episode 6 anyone? :D

One thing that bugged me was the poor visibility when airborne. There was a thick, view-distance-related fog which made some ground attacks difficult. What is the visibility like in ARMA 2?


I haven't gamed since 2005, but this is really tempting. :p
