Also received mine from the same place as Draeger and also in the same packaging :D

Installing now.

The manual is pretty good compared to some other stuff.
Seems to have all the keys annotated and with some good general information on things such as online play, basic control and vehicle control.

One thing though, i might hold back playing until a English version of the patch is out which i hope would be released today or tomorrow . . .


edit: ahh fork it as typing this is has completed install and asks me if i want to play and i cant resist.

Ahh crap my 9600gt is struggling badly.

Similar spec to you, albeit I have 2Gb more memory.

So far it's running superbly with the detail level set to "Very High" ( not delved into the advanced settings yet, just let it auto detect and then ramped the drop down detail level box up to "Very high" ).

I am however, playing at 1440x900 which is the max my monitor goes to. Very impressed with the game so far, started going through the bootcamp section but could not resist jumping in at the deep end and starting the campaign. :p

Working my way through the first few objectives, just got to the bit where the laser deignator comes into play ( wont say too much to spoil things!! ). Lots of really nice little touches and the visuals are pretty awesome. So far not had any sound issues like some folk have mentioned although if the UK DVD's are coming pre patched to 1.01b then maybe thats got rid of a few bugs already. Can't say I've ran into any bugs yet.

Mean't to grab a few screenies there but I was so engrossed by the mission I forgot!!. I can see this being a seriously addictive game. Just stopped to check my email and the last time I looked at the clock it was 2.00pm!!!. :eek: :D

*EDIT - Does anyone know where the saved games are kept?. As it does that Arma/OPF thing of over writing each save as you go along. Would like to keep backups of a few every so often. ;)

To the guy that posted the link to the digital download of Arma 2 - nexway.com, have you used them before? I've not heard of them and am a bit wary of ordering from there
 
I ordered this afternoon. Won't receive it until after the weekend now, but I don't think that's too much of a problem, as I am going to be pretty busy. Hopefully, the first patch will arrive shortly.
