*******Official Armed Assault 2 thread of official officialness*******

amd quad, 8800gt, 12gb of ram... I meant that it meets the games required specs etc, and all hardware is working fine/not faulty.

just reinstalling latets gfx drivers now see if that works

Hmmm. Something not right there?. As I said earlier, your system is pretty close to mine spec wise, albeit your graphics card is better than my 9800GTX+. What res are you playing at?. Mine is running smooth as a babys bum at very high settings. Have you applied the patch yet?. I just did and I can't be sure, but I think it has improved the framerate and graphics a good bit. A few folk are saying that on the Bis forums after applying the 1.02 patch.

I have a question though. Why is it that in my game, vehicles and troops or civilians all have what I can only describe as a wee "halo" around them?. When its a friendly, the halo is yellowish and if its an enemy its red. Aircraft appear to have a green halo. Is that normal?. I'm playing on "Recruit" settings ( I'm a wuss :D ) - is this "halo effect" supposed to make it easier to spot enemies or is it a graphical glitch?.

Na the Halo effect is for those who cant tell their arse from their elbow , on lower difficulty settings

I'm running at 1920x1200 and its bad.....at 1650x1080 or whatever it is its blurry AND performs badly :(

I have mine on par with BF2 graphics and its running prob 25 fps? Latest ATI drivers on win 7

This is annoying me as its meant to be such a good looking game but for it looks so dated

only thing I had to turn down was the viewing distance

I did that too, the default setting is seriously high. Dropped mine down to approx 1800 and its fine, still looks like you can see for miles.

Na the Halo effect is for those who cant tell their arse from their elbow , on lower difficulty settings

That'll be me then. My "arse" and "elbow" recognition skills are not great. :p :D

Excellent!!. Will give that a crack.

I'm actually kinda stuck now, I'm on one of the Harvest Red missions where your C.O. briefs you, you go talk to the Intel guy and then three camps are marked on your map. Been to them all and ( wont divulge the details for spoiler reasons ) still haven't accomplished anything. Right now I'm just driving around the mountain roads not knowing what to do next. :(

on my mates install the gfaphics are, shockingly dire. Like no detail AT ALL, the black / white mens faces are just one shade (including eyes etc are all one shade of colour), buildings walls etc are white, everythings blocky etc.

tried a reinstall, specs of pc are fine. Patched up etc.

Any help?

sounds like fade to me. the copy protection/detection

Got my copy today, installed patch 1.2 and latest nvidia drivers.

Can't really start to enjoy this game, i've got terrible graphics issues.
The LOD on the textures everywhere keeps flickering between high and low, even when i'm standing still. It's on everything, even the ground i'm standing on.

Also it's buggy, started the first training mission and had to restart it after it failed to pick up my standing after the prone crawl (Amusingly i had the exact same issue in original Operation Flashpoint :) ) It worked fine second time round.
Got to the bit where you're using anti tank weapons, and halfway through my training npc got shot from somewhere (not by me) and i failed the mission due to a training accident.

Tried a netgame on a 40ms ping server, found it pretty laggy at times.

Main thing for me is this graphics LOD flicker issue, i couldn't see any ovious threads on the support forums about it - anyone got any ideas?

Mine's running absolutely brilliant. All "Very High", 1920x1200 - only thing I had to turn down was the viewing distance, but it's still damn good.

Screenshots are 1920x1200, so I'll just link to them:

Spec are in sig. Running really well considering I only have a E6600 & GTX260, both at stock.

Some good looking screens there.
I do see some jaggies there though, and you mention its running great for you so maybe try some 133% fillrate ?

Im after a bit of help here, i bought this today and just put it on, seems to run ok on very high for me, im running a i7 920 not overclocked and a 4890 again not overclocked. anyway i never played the 1st one so i thought ill do the training, i got to the bit where you have to go to the town, i got to the marker, nothing happened and then i got killed, had to start again so ive turned it off for now, will have a go later but how do i get past this bit, im struggling to find exactly what i have to do, how do i get objective on screen.

Is there anyway to fix the seriously annoying issue of the team leader always damn well standing up from crouched or prone when you switch to another team member?!!!. It's really annoying and ridiculous.

I'm on a mission right now where I have ran into a small pocket of enemy troops in a village and I have sneaked my team closer and closer, getting them all into position so I can begin an attack. My team leader is right up next to a low stone dyke wall, proned. On the other side of the wall is a Shilka and its crew wandering about. I want to try and move my sniper up, switch to him and take the crew out from a safe distance. As soon as I switch to him, team leader idiot head stands up in full view of everyone in a 20 miles radius. Nutter!!!.

Why on earth does this happen?. I have issued "All stop" and "Go prone" orders to everyone and they all obey, apart from the team leader who insists on standing up.
