*****Official Ashes thread*****

Sad its finished but glad as well cause we are going out for dinner and I didn't want to miss anything :p

Any chance they might be pressured in to prolonging the game?...I mean, how many tickets did they sell for the last day?!

Not sure what the lords deal is but I know at old Trafford they don't issue refunds for day five they just offer discounts against next years test/odi so maybe it's something similar

Checked the score after dinner last night. Followed it for an hour or so. Realised it wasn't going to get any better and decided to leave it until this morning. Checked this morning... OK, no surprises there.

So yeah, it seems our bowlers think Root deserves a double ton.

Ho hum. Worst Australian team in history?

Australia just got rooted

Wouldn't say the worst as we do have a few very good bowlers in the team but its the worst batting line up I have ever seen. I can't remember the last time we have scored 350+ in an innings. Our bowlers are stuffed because the batters aren't backing it up.

I have to say that it is without doubt the weakest in my time tbh(let's say 16-17 years) ... But then, I had to sit through the entire 90s watching us get thrashed, so I'm not complaining:p
The lack of fight/competitiveness in this team is not something I thought I would ever see, based on previous teams.

How far out of site would England be if they was playing well? as from what I have seen the performance has been poor apart from individuals like Bell and Root (in the batting department)

All we need today is a Root double century, a 600 run lead and then to polish off the Aussies by the end of play. What a perfect day that would be. :D
