*****Official Ashes thread*****

Just catching up on the day after being out and can't believe this crazy selection. Feel sorry for Tremlett. How on earth did he not get picked? Throwing one new guy into a nice-to-win test is a big enough change but its baffling to have two new guys in, especially given Englands reluctance to change in the past.

Not good to see nerves get the better of the new guy.

Good review by Aussies for a change, Watson survives and is on 166 not out.

263-3, good decent first innings so far for the Aussies.

Watson is playing a blinder of an innings, little too late but still at least he got his century in the end. Would love to see him get a double ton but i imagine come first thing tomo morning, he will have gone by then. Then its up to Smith to try and get his century and build a first innings of 400+.

Watson's innings has totally changed the shape of today's play. Without him, England are on top; with him, we're looking at chasing the draw.

Ooohh close, could have been a no ball but it isnt...Watson gone for 175. Sadly i jinxed him and he wont be getting his double ton.

What a catch...great effort from KP.

Watson played brilliantly

They just tried something new as it was the last test, and it hasn't worked out. Doesn't mean they were wrong to try it, it just hasn't worked

Just as I typed that he gets out lol.

Very good. He took full advantage of the new boys looking a bit iffy(to put it kindly) and was knocking them all over the place. He got to 100 off of 114 balls and then slowed down a bit(just a bit mind). I think he hit about 30 off of Kerrigan's first two overs?
