My system is

p5k-e wifi
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Stepping (2.4GHz 1066MHz) Socket 775 L2 8MB
Cache (2x4MB (4MB per core pair)
corsair 2*1gb 800mhz
Sapphire ati 2900 HD pro 1gb
Thermaltake 750w psu

anybody got some way of fixing this.

Hi there - I have a query on the latest BIOS for the ASUS P5K-E mobo that I'm hoping a few forum members can help with. I recently upgraded the BIOS on my mobo from v602 to v806, but then found overclocking much more difficult with the new BIOS - a higher voltage was requried to achieve the same FSB (340) and it was not Orthos stable. I double checked the BIOS settings and all were set as before the BIOS upgrade. All thoughts welcome.....

There is a vcore problem in new bios...it turns out to be lower than what you set it at....have a look here.

Does anyone know of any problems with Vista 64bit and audio drivers?I keep downloading them from the Asus website but they refuse to run on Vista Ultimate 64bit, anyone got a link that they know definitely contains working drivers?

Don't know if it helps but my P5K-E WiFi works fine with Vista 64 and the latest audio driver download from the Asus support website.

I've not encountered any issue - I only got a BSOD when overclocking the ram too or making the timings tighter when oc'd but that's to be expected for 4 sticks of 5-5-5-12 6400 ram.

Hi - I have 2 x 1GB sticks of PC8500 DDR2 but I did notice that my P5K-E WiFi board didn't recognise it as PC8500 and reported it as PC6400, both with the 602 BIOS and the latest 806 BIOS. However, I have set the DRAM Frequency to 1088 (5:8 divider I think) in BIOS with Auto Voltage and it works fine. You could try setting the DRAM Frequency and timings manually in BIOS and see what you get.

How do u turn off wifi on the p5k-e wifi board i've turned it off in the bios and xp is still picking it up in device manager?

This sounds strange - you could try turning of the "PnP OS" option in BIOS if it's turned on and see if that makes a difference, else just disable in Device Manager.

Hi Wingz - I have an unrelated question for you please. I note from your signature that you have 2GB Ballistix 8500 - just wondering how high you've managed to push this in terms of frequency and voltage?

Hi all.

I apoligise in advance as I am in work and dont have time right now to trawl through 20 pages.

My question is I have noticed the P5K Premium is on offer this week and I am very tempted to buy in the next hour along with the Q6600 that is also on offer this week.

I bought 4GB of RAM a few days from OcUK that was on offer last week (Corsair 2GB pack x2 C4 RAM).

Would all of this go well together? Some motherboards seem to be giving RAM low scoring on the vista thing (when I know some give 5.9 for my particular ram, some give low 5.3 and I wonder is that due to a poor motherboard etc).

I would really appreciate some feedback on this board (if it is terrible PLEASE SAY!!).

If I have missed something important in this thread (which I assume I have) could you please direct me to it if you have time?

I know I should do this myself but if I leave it until end of the day it won't be delivered tomorrow and the P5K Premium has 8 boards left at present in stock.

I've not really check to see how high I can push them or mess with the timings but I did have them running at 500Mhz @ 4-4-4-12 with 2.25v but now running them at 600Mhz @ 5-5-5-15 with 2.15v.

Thanks for the quick response. 600MHz - I didn't think they'd got that far. I'll have to experiment some more.....
