The beeping the board makes when shutting down, or rebooting is in my opinion due to the way the board handles power from the pci-e connectors on the psu to the g80. If there is not enough residual power left when the caps on the psu are discharding during shutdown, the gtx percieves this to mean there is not enough power to run it and so the piezzo speaker leaves out a little squeal but as the system is shutting down it only lasts a milli second. This is what tech support in Etasis told me when I queried this on my last rig. I thought the psu was dodgy. It was an Abit IN9 32X-MAX mobo. Is now happening on this board with a Corsair 620 HX and they more or less told me the same. I know of other people who have had it with PC Power and Cooling and Silverstone PSU's too. It seems to be unique to certain boards, G80, and psu configs.
The other issue I was having with this board was it would not boot up from power on when cold, the windows loading screen would hang. But if I hit the reset button it would reboot fine. Sorted it this morning by setting USB Legacy support from auto to off and now no issues. Boots from cold everytime. Done no clocking yet, as cpu cooler is knackered, but system seems very stable. Done a dual boot install of XP Pro and Vista this morning.
Just installed my Leadtek G80 Ultra, and about to install my new TR Ultra 120 Extreme...will make sure to leave plastic on X-bracket this time. Hopefully I will be able to remove the old x-bracket which is stuck on the board without too much trouble.
