**- Official Asus P5K Thread -**

Are you guys happy with the 0404 BIOS?

rebooting ok no issues on overclocking?

as i had been getting errors and had to power down to restart.. really annoying!! should i stick to this BOARD or not..

After many restarts i finally have it booting in fine.. and if i have not done any overclocking why would you get a Failure??

0404 working fine here

need to get upto 3.6ghz any one got a KNOW HOW on this asus p5k board on what i shuld get the settings to be. Many thanks.

I'm trying to do the same. However, i've only been able to reach 3.4Ghz stable with my E6600. I've enabled the voltage damper, disabled spread spectrums, C1E, SpeedStep and Vanderpool. Set memory voltage to 2.2v, vCore to 1.45, 5-5-5-18 timings and that's about it, i think. Oh, and increase the FSB frequency.

I think the thing holding my overclock back is the vCore, but the core temperatures under load simply wont allow me to increase it any more.

What's your E6700 running at right now?

I've been testing 0404 constantly and again, im really impressed at how this board seems to get better and better with each bios revision.

3.2ghz is now prime stable at 1.45vcore instead of the 1.48 i was originally at, before it would crash after 3 hours at 1.45v.
Memory overclocking has been boosted yet again, 333 strap seems to work great with my quad and 4 1gb sticks.

I can now do 4-4-4-12 at 1ghz mem @ 2.2v memtest+ stable, currently running prime, going to do 7 hours hopefully.

Memory sensitive benchmarks have seen a small boost (memtest bandwidth, sandra and everest)

Ive had the Asus P5K-Del since it came out at OCUK.

Just upgraded to 0404 - seems stable.

Intel E6600 - 475*7 = 3325 Mhz @ 1.45V (real: 1.43V)
OCZ PC2-9200 Reaper HTC Memory (2x1gb) - DDR2-1140 @2.35V (5-5-5-9)/2T
RAID 0 - Raptors

I think my memory can certainly do more. Would like to see DDR2-1250 @ 2.35V (4-4-4-12) but at the moment its not happening.

Also 3.6 ghz from the C2D would be ideal, but again anything this side of 500 fsb and no boot!

cool at least your at 3.4 im down at 3.2 on a e6700 what bios are you running?

how do u like your hp 22" ?

I'm using 0311. Although, after seeing what lay-z-boy thinks of the new 0404 BIOS, i may switch to that. The monitor's wonderful; i still haven't taken off the plastic protective coating, i just don't want it to get all dirty.
What do you think of yours?

Type_R, can't you get stable at 400x9 to achieve 3.6Ghz?
lay-z-boy, what CPU and RAM are you using?

i just go my rig running this morning, it seems tobe working great, a simple overclock with low lat mem, 10*330fsb.. 44412.. with a e6700, and kingston mem. and a 90 fan
only issues after a 6 hour orthos, (no errors) is the sata connectors, with one drive in it, it works fine, put another disk in or a raid board, and it slows now and then. takes for ever to boot too....almost like running out of gas..:( can't seem to fix the problem,

anyone had any sim to my problem?

useing red connectors, not black....

try a watercooling or fase cooling system...

i got 3750 for about 18 hours on orthos with the d5w delux and a e6600---- with water

i dont think you'll get that speed from this mobo just yet,, newer bios needed

Tried 400x9, boots to windows but is highly unstable with orthos @ 1.475V
Not really wanting to go higher on the volts front without water cooling.

The memory doesnt like anything higher than DDR2-1140 @ 2.35V @1T, might increase the volts there to see what else can be achieved (5-5-5-12).

I'm trying to get 2 Nec Optiarc SATA DVD-RW drives to work on my P5K. Don't want to use a big IDE cable anymore. Bios is not recognising both drives, will only see one of them. Can you have 2 SATA optical drives on the board? Hope someone can help. You can't set these drives to masters or slaves can you?

Ahh you have a similar setup to mine. No idea about the 2 optical drives, they would need to be on the Jmicron controller presumably.

Ive just got my setup tuned slightly differently now:

E6600 - 415*8 = 3.32 ghz @ 1.45V
OCZ Reaper HTC PC2-9200 - DDR2-1250 @ 5-5-5-12 @ 2.3 V
RAID 0 raptors

with those setting and bumped up Vcore at 1.45 I have
3.4ghz with the dominators at 1020mhz and timings set in the bios to 4-4-4-12.

when i run the CPU-z mark is now correctly showing the speed but memory is like 32.00 cas letency
Ras to cas 5
ras precharge 2
cycle time 12 clocks ??? WHATS GOING ON>>>

sorry pic was small on the link not sure what happened,

anyone seen funny results on *** saus p5k board on memory?

I'm shooting for the same. Although, i have to up my vCore to the setting just above 1.45v (1.46...something) to get stable. What CPU cooler are you using, and what sort of temperatures are you getting under load?
