I've heard that changing the sound to War Tapes in the settings (instead of hi-fi or headphones) gives a much better audio experience. However when I use that it is really crackly. Has anyone else experienced this?
Works fine for me.
Do you mean its better in terms of trying to detect where someone is, like good positional audio ? See i have put mine to headphones (as i wear them). I may change it to War tapes if its better.
Can any 1 confirm if they have got their copy from Play.com yet?
It adds more ambient noise and changes the sound of the guns slightly from what I heard of it when I was playing single player last night. I don't know if it will help you with working out where enemies are but I agree with Squirrel, it was very crackly and distorted.
Also, I have a question of my own, well, two actually:
1. How come when I sign into Multiplayer and go to the server browser I just get a little loading thing spinning around saying it's "Waiting for data" and nothing ever happens? Firewall blocking maybe, or is this just an issue that loads of people are experiencing?
2. How do I enable Direct X 11 effects which this game supports? Or, is it a case of it already being enabled once it detected my video card?

Slightly miffed, unable to join any multiplayer games even though I've uninstalled beta and updated punkbuster to the latest version![]()
Ok great, i will have a play tonight. In response to your 1st question, mine does that. I just cancel it and go over to the right where all the filters are etc.
In response to question 2, i have noo idea, im still running DX9 you lucky bugger.
yep got it at 10am![]()
Keep trying! It took me an hour yesterday evening to get into a server. I just kept cancelling the “waiting for data” pop up a minute or so after clicking the refresh button then just clicked and clicked and clicked lol
Eventually got through
DX version is selected Automaticly by the game. You can manually set it in your .ini file
