*** Official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Thread ***

Anybody boycotting this because it does not have dedicated servers?

With Host Migration built in I can't see there being much of a problem, especially on the 360.
If the host has a bad connection and quits out it will go to the next best connection.

I have this on pre-order, with the day booked off (as the wife is on a course in Lincoln and I will be doing the School Run ;))

I hope the postal strike doesn't affect the delivery date/time :(

I pre-ordered but I'll just pop in and grab a copy if Royal Mail don't deliver.

I have a feeling the way all my local supermarkets are advertising this game as you walk in the door that there will be a WAW like price cut on launch day. I'm seriously considering just holding off and walking to buy it rather than pre-order.

I think the supermarkets are just waiting for the first company to put out their offer.

They will use this game to get people in the door, I'd be amazed if they don't have a launch day price cut.

Now the other half of me is looking at a game store thats guarenteed delivery for launch day even with RM. So they must be sending out very early, so you stand a chance of getting it a few days early if lucky :D

Decisions.

I hope to God that's the same Game store I've pre-ordered with. ;)

Supermarkets will do what they did with Fifa I think as they did it with WAW last year so why not? They have the greater buying power over even the biggest gaming stores and they are able to justify selling the game at just over cost because people will also buy groceries whilst there.

It was £27-29 IIRC.

I will probably order for £40 off a game selling website and then leave it unopened to see what the supermarkets do. If they do an offer just return it on the highstreet.

Well anything over a tenner would defo be worth it. I'm sure I'll probably just change my order to the first people that dispatch :D

The tesco by mine was doing FIFA for £25 and actually took a big hit because of it, they expected mums to be in getting their weekly shop and picking up the game for little timmy along the way, when in reality, most people just went in and bought game. If it's the same with MW2 I'll probably pop in at midnight. Girlfriend works part time at a games retailer though so I could always just use the staff discount there, probably still be more expensive than a supermarket though.

My local games shop is selling this for £50 and they will give me £18 for infamous. So £32 aint bad for this really.Would have been better if activision hadn't raised the price to try and line their pockets a bit:mad:

You're still paying £50, same as if I had £50 in vouchers I couldn't say "£0 for this game aint bad really".
I'll probably be getting this game though for co-op/spec-ops modes.
