i dont buy games, especially of this nature, on its humanatrian/Red Cross etc merits, if i wanted to do that i'd watch a Michael Moore movie...
I guess the difference with this scene and GTA4 is that in GTA4 you have the choice to not kill innocent people. You can go through the whole game without killing one pedestrian, whilst in that scene, it looks like you don't have much of a choice (well i guess you kinda do cause you don't have to pull the trigger, but you know what i mean 
)

Bloody hell, I wouldn't mind some of that action. I'm gonna trudge round the high street at the weekend to find said store.

Watched it in the end!
Looks amazing. Doesn't seem massively over the top or shocking considering what we see in movies and play in games these days. Reminds me of Heat.

The terrorist attack is skippable says Activision - so that makes it okay.
Most of you will have by now seen the leaked footage from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 where you are called to join in with a terrorist attack on an airport.
The footage - where the player guns down innocent civilians running for their life has caused a storn of controversy among gamers and will no doubt find a happy home at the likes of Fox News and The Daily Mail.
Activision has issued a statement explaining the content of the game:
"The scene establishes the depth of evil and the cold bloodedness of a rogue Russian villain and his unit. By establishing that evil, it adds to the urgency of the player’s mission to stop them.
"Players have the option of skipping over the scene. At the beginning of the game, there are two ‘checkpoints’ where the player is advised that some people may find an upcoming segment disturbing. These checkpoints can’t be disabled.
"Modern Warfare 2 is a fantasy action game designed for intense, realistic game play that mirrors real life conflicts, much like epic, action movies. It is appropriately rated 18 for violent scenes, which means it is intended for those who are 18 and older."
