*** Official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Thread ***

I guess the difference with this scene and GTA4 is that in GTA4 you have the choice to not kill innocent people. You can go through the whole game without killing one pedestrian, whilst in that scene, it looks like you don't have much of a choice (well i guess you kinda do cause you don't have to pull the trigger, but you know what i mean :))

While it's hard to judge it properly from the leaked video.
It seems to me that you still have the option whether to kill the innocent people, it's mostly the other terrorists doing it.

By the looks of it, you are a CIA agent in deep cover trying to get in with the Terrorist Unit. Hence why you have to do something bad. However, much like in films when this kind of thing happens, the protagnoist won't be the one mowing down tons of innocent people, but will most likely hang back and then be put in the situation where they have to kill just one person. I'm sure this happened to Jack Bauer in one of the series of 24.....

So technically you might not really have to do the killing. It is going to go down a storm with the Daily Mail though.

You just know the majority of people who complain about this will be:

A. People who read about this in the Daily Mail who otherwise would not have paid any attention to it at all nor had any intention to play the game.

B. The idiot parents who buy this game for their kids, despite them being under 18.

I don't know about that a lot of people on the neogaf thread seem to think this is going a little to far, when even gamers have trouble with something in a game you know the main stream media is going to have a field day.

Pretty much spot on.

I look forward to gunning down innocent holiday makers :D

I'm just waiting for the story to appear on Radio 1 Newsbeat with the old favorite 'Critics Say...'

I hate that show!

Not really, I find it a bit wrong tbh, theres a difference between fun and something thats just a bit sick. Not that I have a problem with people playing it, I just dont think it'll be particularly fun to play

This the console forum you know, but yeah, you'd probably be able to run it on medium settings. Doubt you'd be able to pick it up tommorow either seen as it isn't out until the 10th november :p.

If you're planning on getting it on PC be warned though, most PC players are up in arms due to the lack of dedicated servers in multi-player, so it might be worth reading up on it. Not much of a problem for those us getting it on console though.

All neogaf members are weirdo's anyway :p

anyone got a link that works to the vid?

seen it.....pretty messed up, i know games like gta4 you can do the same but that game had a less serious tone to it...more funny in a sense. that vid i just seen is like serious, the screaming you here all around is a real shocker, the serious tone of music, people crawling away and getting shot. gt4 and any other game where you can kill innocents ive played is nothing like this....this kinda stuff can bring someone closer to the killer inside them, suppose we all have a killer inside us, some have it more than others, that vid and being involved in it deffs brings you closer i dont care what you say.

Some of the best and most widely acclaimed cinema in the world deals with some of the worst atrocities known to mankind in gruesome detail and without restraint or apology. Why should games be any different?

We all know this isn't glorifying terrorism, it's being used as a story telling device to push the emotion of the story and connect you to the plot. Just because it's done interactively, we should be shocked and appalled by it?

Don't you realise how backwards that sounds? You think it's better that the killing of innocents in GTA is more light hearted and trivial rather than showing how shocking, serious and deplorable the killing of innocents is like in that video?

There's nothing "sick" about it.

If the game included skewering new born babies in the eye with a red hot poker, then that would be sick.
