**Official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Thread**

I have no judgement other than every game since CoD4 has been terrible and an insult to the series :p

CoD2 is where it all started :(

UO <3

You say it's being made by a 'better' dev house but I'd guarantee the 'bosses' will want to emulate MW2's success, so many of it's **** features will be involved.

But the perks were not realistic in any way, at least make them fit real life, so instead of deep impact rubbish, allow the user to pick different bullet types, the one that gives you more life could be heavy armour but you run slower, stupid martordom, in other games it was known as a dead mans nade, a fluke if it happened, not every stupid time you die, its a weak idea that they actually used, crazy.

But its quite an arcadey game, Take commando where you have no falling damage, its nuts and not realistic in anway but they are fun. If your after realisim then your playing the wrong game.

Whats the problem with martydom? if you have any skill its pretty easy to avoid the dropped nade, not like it doesn't make a pretty loud clunk when it drops.

COD isn't supposed to be realistic and never was its always been a "hollywood" realism, if you want realism your playing the wrong game, don't hate the game because you don't understand it (this is why I laugh when people compare BF and COD - I play both and don't consider them in any way competition for each other).

beat me to it! almost said the same thing! :D

I still don't get the hatred for MW2 is it just popular to hate it?

Because some people don't like it?
Because some people feel that it has sucked all creativity from the genre?
Because some people don't like the fact that it's became a yearly, money-spinner like Fifa?
Because some people feel that the map packs are overpriced?
Because it's an extremely goofy depiction of "Modern Warfare"?
Because some people feel that it has removed much of the skill element from FPS games?
Because some people see it as a "tabloid" game? Aimed for mass consumption, with no depth.
Because other games are starting to follow the "COD example"?

I don't hate COD. Indeed, I wish I liked it.

Actually, CoD WAS the most realistic war game at one time. Compare CoD, CoD:UO and CoD 2 to it's contemporary MoH games and you'll see what I mean. Also, the uniforms, weapons, vehicles, places and so on are realistic, so it's not like it's got laser guns and elves in it.

Also, to the people saying "Just another CoD hate trhead", most of the hatred for the current incarnations of CoD are from CoD fans that loved the series and can see that it's gone to the dogs and just wants money.

I'm looking forward to the weapons that yano, don't even sound like weapons.

I remember when the devs actually hired tanks to fire shells for CoD1.

ffs

I know what you mean. The M4 sounds like a power drill in the game. In real life, it sounds like "sproing! sproing! sproing!"

Spot on.

I'm sure I'll still buy it, but I'll probably end up hating it.

It was always been based heavily on saving private ryan, etc. tho, they set out to portray a hollywood WW2 action movie and thats what its been like since, playing in an action movie rather than an attempt at a milsim.

Yes, but even SPR told its story with some degree of authenticity.
