**Official Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Thread**

in sales it will wipe the floor with bf3 and so on actual gameplay wise maybe not

Suppose it depends what you want from a game, at its peak I loved BF2 and it's style of gameplay & it's most certainlly one of the bests game i've played, I'm Hoping BF3 will grab me in the same way.
But if I ever want a quick few rounds of running round in circles with quick respawns and constantly having something to shoot at then CoD is unbeatable.

Cool.............. Host MW2 ment 40-1 KDR whatever map...
MW3 might be able to push 50+!!!!!! cant wait

I doubt it. A very very good KDR in MW2 was down to killstreaks. Aren't they toning it down for this one so it's mostly down to skill?

I do love bringing the pain in MW2 though with killstreaks.

5 - Predator Missile
7 - Harrier Strike
11 - Chopper Gunner

LOADS OF KILLS!! :D

I think the pros go 7-11-25 though? :p

Theres always something to shoot at in BF3 due to the spotting lol, and before you ask, yes I have played the alpha of it :P

BF3 and MW3 aren't very comparable to be fair, just like black ops isn't to BFBC2. Massive difference in the sizes of the levels for a start, far more weapons in the COD games to choose from, but vehicles in the BF games ect ect ect.

I will probably only buy this for the single player campaign. I'm not a huge fans of the CoD multiplayer experience.

Played the first MW the other day again, forgot how good the campaign was.
Yes, MW3 will sell a LOT. Mainly a multiplayer for consoles now though. If I play any multiplayer game other than TF2 this year, it will probably be BF3.

Because some people don't like it?
Because some people feel that it has sucked all creativity from the genre?
Because some people don't like the fact that it's became a yearly, money-spinner like Fifa?
Because some people feel that the map packs are overpriced?
Because it's an extremely goofy depiction of "Modern Warfare"?
Because some people feel that it has removed much of the skill element from FPS games?
Because some people see it as a "tabloid" game? Aimed for mass consumption, with no depth.
Because other games are starting to follow the "COD example"?

I don't hate COD. Indeed, I wish I liked it.

That's pretty good actually. I do like the COD series, albeit less so since COD4 - I know they are making them for console/arcade gamers but I just wish they would at least give fans the option to turn off some of the more ridiculous immersion-destroying gimmicks e.g. MW2, Cliffhanger (love that mission) all SAS-style and stealth and snow, you're up a mountain with Soap, beautiful scenery and all of a sudden a gaudy "FOLLOW" sign appears above Soap's head. He's the only other one there, do you really have to ruin the scene with that? Do you really have to be so condescending to your customers 'dear morons, when you can't figure out where on earth to go next, please follow the only other person on the screen'.

If you insist on treating your customers like idiot children, could you not at least give us the option to turn it off?

Dedicated servers confirmed, still not sure if I will buy it though. Could be a good alternative to BF3 for when you fancy just a run n gun blast.

Activision is, however, concerned by the open nature of the platform, which could render cheating harder to manage than on consoles.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Oh sorry i forgot IWNET for MW2 was this be all end all service where you never had to worry about people hacking..oh wait. What a crock of ****

cant wait till this series dies out. Feels like we are in an fps era. Reminds me of the time when every pc game was an isometric rts...My guess is hopefully an action-adventure age next? :P

Finally perks that seem balanced. The ability to be invisible to all support tools right from the word go is a vast improvement over black ops which was a "pro" unlock which you could only realistically get in the early level 20s if you purely concentrated on just that.

The faster lock on to aircraft as well will be an absolute godsend as both MW2 and BO both suffered with the amount of time it took the switch to the launcher, aim down the sights, lock on and finally fire. 9 times out of 10 the aircraft would have killed you by then, especially player controlled variations.

Only 2 things put me off buying this, just like the previous 2 games. Firstly the launch price at £39.99 in most places, which is vastly higher than pretty much any other PC game launch. Secondly the fact I know I'd be pretty much forced into buying DLC a few months down the line if I actually played the multiplayer at all.
