*****Official Crysis 3 Thread*****

Just completed this, thoughts below:

+Impressive graphics
+Performance OK when settings tweaked
+Decent weaponry
+Some good characterisation e.g. Psycho, nice to play alongside a teammate in some sections

-With everything on very high the game kept crashing with DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED error, took me a while to get round this one
-Dull story
-Lack of variety in enemies
-Too many objectives seemed to revolve around simply reaching a checkpoint meaning that the best approach (especially towards the end) was simply to sprint there as fast as possible

Overall I'd say this game was fairly disappointing and probably the worst of the series. Aside from the graphics there was nothing particularly notable and I didn't even particularly know (or care) what was going on with the plot at times. Towards the end it descended into a bit of a farce and felt also like Halo.

Anyhoo I run 60-70fps outside and have had it drop to 29 in a cut scene with lots of cool lighting going on or in mid thirties in big action scenes. Playing on High with no motion blur, FXAA and X16 aniso

Needless to say Crysis 3 is fun to play and the single best looking video game of all time.

The lighting engine for the first time looks 'real' in a game, absolutely amazing.

Just started the first level and the graphics are almost too good. The detail is incredible and makes focussing on / seeing enemies very difficult. Ridiculous graphics. They are actually quite a bit beyond what I thought was possible at the current time. Physics still seems gash though. A bizarre step down from crysis 1. Other than fabric, but I don't really care about cloth.
 
Stuck on Crysis 3

Really stuck on a boss near the end of crysis 3:

When fighting the Ceph mastermind, I battle him until he sucks me in close, then it says press space at the bottom of the screen but this just doesn't do anything and I get killed :(

Any ideas anyone?
 
I've just started having problems with this game for no reason at all. Loads up and a soon as its going to go into game it stops responding. I deleted the folder as mentioned above but it still crashes.

I can get it to load if I load an older save which in my case is "safety's off" but as soon as I get to a point in the game where I originally was it stops responding again.

I'm not prepared to reinstall windows, it's just not worth the hassle for one game.

Any ideas? Has the recent update caused the issue? Everything is up to date on my rig.

Any of you lot playing this on a 7970? I just got it. Really like it so far but it's absolutely haping my 7970. What settings are best to use to get best performance out of this card in this game?
 
After several attempts at the final mission - even on easy level - gave up in disgust and uninstalled.

There just seemed no way of killing the mechanical monstrosity and with no checkpoint/autosave after taking out the first arm and killing the second wave of enemies it throws you back to the start of the mission. Maybe I'm not the gamer I once was but this is just maddening, frustrating and TBH a cheap means of padding out what was a surprisingly short and monotonous SP campaign. (The second half of which largely seemed to involve running round a massive crater in central New York).

I'm having the same problems on the final mission. It takes ages and when you die it takes you right back to the beginning of the fight. Add to that my copy (genuine bought copy) crashes every time you die, so I have to reload it too!

Not impressed at all :mad:
