kentsangkh thanks for the file but how do I get rid of all the white text in the upper right showing all the info?

r_displayinfo = 0

I also r_sunshafts isn't set to 1...looks much nicer with it enabled.

Personal preferance though obviously.

Just did the timedemo so I can see how much of an improvement my GT will be.

2900 Pro @ Stock = average FPS 13.37 (lol)
2900 Pro @ XT = average FPS 15.52

It wouldn't surprise me if small mods start being released in the next few weeks.

what is a mod? a modification to the game? people have modified levels and graphics settings already. or do you mean full mods, like weapons, sounds levels etc

i prefer to have it on, imo look nicer to me

, especially look directly to the sun under trees, but yes, personal preferance

I mean like the way Counterstrike was a mod to Half life. Like Desert Combat and 1942 and so on

A nice test too since it has a dustdevil and lots of destructible buildings, for some reason I was getting 75fps (& 75% on two cores) on it too maybe because its a night level

Also the sign of a good game? I had to turn the lights off in my room to play this level properly so my eyes could adjust to the darkness and shadows of the level, seems Ive never really had to do that before with a game..

My copy arrived this morning

Within 10 minutes of playing, the sound went crackly, then went silent. Yay for demo bugs that don't get sorted before release :rolleyes:

It also happens if you stand close to a grenade that goes off.

That the one with system.cfg and the CVAR file? that makes better than VERY HIGH but with a lot better performance than very high?

seems odd those frame rates tbh, I tried that and I was in the middle of the sea looking up at the island and my frame rate was about 24, went to about 26+ in the plans aswell, I'm guessing it will most likely get into the teens tho in heavy fights.

Keep in mind that I only have an X2 3800+ @ 2.7Ghz and 1.5GB PC3200 RAM
