Official Crysis Demo thread

Just used the edited cvars and had everything running smoothly at 2560x1600 with only shadows and post processing knocked down to med, looked very nice as well! Since I only had one 8800gtx enabled, this gives me hope that once they sort out the performance for DX10 and SLI support I should be able to run pretty much everything on full :)

anyone running with AA enabled?

I put it on 4x on mine and it turned on and looked nice and smooth. pitty it dropped from around 25fps to 3!

I bet 2 gtx's cant run 6xAA, 16AF in very high DX10 in a half decent res

in vista?

nope, vista is a no go for me at the moment, cant even run everything at medium/high and get smooth rates (even medium is a push). Shame when Bioshock and WiC work so well, hopefully the full game will improve things along with a patch or two and some drivers

Have to say, I was looking forward to this but the demo is very unconvincing. Enemy soldiers take too many shots from a variant of an AK-74 to want to lie down (have they got some super suit too?!), people see through trees (but I agree chopping the trees down is fun), enemy soldiers uniforms flash in and out of play (rather buggy prior to imminent release, other textures do the same) - I guess I'm just one of those who was expecting more.

I knew there was something bugging me and couldn't put my finger on it...

Right I dont get this from some of the posts but i have this set up...

E6600, EVGA 8800 GTX and 2gb Ram and im running it with everything on high with 16aa and at 1680x1050 and it looks great and its very smooth as well with the latest Nvidia drivers! does this sound right or am i exaggerating?

Sounds fine, I just think the gameplay is rather lacking.

Set SLI to forced alternate frame rendering and SLI gives a fair boost.
Did this on a mates PC at the LAN I was at this weekend and he went from worse performance than me to around 50fps. Both of us running on high on XP, in 1920x1200. He has 2 8800gtxs and only a core2duo 6700.
