Official Crysis Demo thread

Any ideas why bodies loose their physical properties when the person is dead?

Shoot them and they don't even twitch, also no blood or anything?


Is it a demo bug!??

There are other threads in this part and other parts that are waayy bigger but I'd say this is one of the quickest to get this many pages. I think hype has got something to do with it
 
I think its a bit crap how you can recharge your health so quickly. Maybe if they slowed the recharge right down it wuld be better. AI could be harder on delta mode aswell

Be better with the normal Health/healthpacks looks like they are gearing it to console....Game is spoilt a bit because You don't care about wearing a few.:D Unlike farCry where every health point mattered

If you use strength as the sort of default power then it doubles the recovery time. Right about AI, shame that :/

edit: just playing through and noticed a korean saying "cover me, reloading" when he was the only one there!!

I suspect its deliberate as this is a freely available demo and parents may have issues if they see lots of gore in a game their kids are playing.

I'd add more to the full game if you could pick up bodies and chuck em around. Would be cool if you could throw a body into the middle of a Korean camp and then watch the hysteria :D
 
To me the A.I. is a bit disapoointing, I had one guy that stood in the toilet shouting and shooting thru the wall and a few others running around like a chicken without a head screaming.

And about the graphics, yeah they can look fine but after playing Crysis at 1280*1024 without AA it is a breath of frash air when I start up HL2:Episode Two after that and can run with 8x Supersampled Gamma Correct CSAA/16xAF and still have a framerate >60fps instead of seeing horribly aliased trees.
 
it would be cool if u could pick up a dead body and use it as some kind of shield! i guess u can do that with the live guys but u gotta get close to them to pick them up!
 
It does seem rushed. I wonder what they did in that extra month when it was delayed. Maybe we should be thankful that it was delayed. If the performance isn't great now, imagine what it would have been like on the original release date.

The demo still carries PEGI and ESRB ratings...
Its almost certainly because of the law in Germany right now. They have a huge debate going on about "killergames" having sparked Dunblane/Columbine style school masacres.
The legislation is sooo tight now that its rumoured that Crytek may relocate.

Far Cry had to have a seperate German release that removed the gore and ragdoll physics from the game.
Naturally the first thing the German guys did was get copies of the English files to unlock the hidden features.

I would hope they will release the International version with fully enabled Ragdoll.
 
No no, the pack you download from the site is so that you can play with all the guns and stuff in the demo level :D

HAS to be on normal settings though. You find all the weapons by the radar jammer.
 
hi all,sorry to go abit off the subject but during playing this demo i had to cntrl alt delete to get out of the game for a second, now whenever i launch the game its in a window on my desktop. sorry if its come up already guys.
