Great for you, but what about the people that are offline for long periods ?
eg the fine people who protect our country ? they might have a laptop but no net connection
and the worst is the ones that are most likely effected ..... will be offline now and cannot vote

I voted for 90 days, because those that cannot vote need a chance to
play the legally paid for software in SP mode for periods of time without internet connection

Before the thread discussing the new DRM go shut down by mods, there were several people
with justifiable reasons for not being online enough to use DCS

Iam ok with logging in to MP mode , but for SP mode current starforce system works well

I am one of those people mate so I understand it very well indeed! I agree with you that 90 days would be lovely but the just won't do it because people like me and the other guys that spend time away are a tiny minority

I'd prefer none.
Conscious that companies come and go, and whilst ED appear to be fine, there's no guarantees.
Implications being that if they can't pay their bills one day, their servers get turned off and we suddenly can't play it anymore. I know that a lot of games are now like this, but it doesn't mean that I want it that way.
I'd much prefer that we pay, and they give us it to keep and use, end of story.

I agree

I like that Monnie Rock created the poll
But it is basically asking how far in do you want them to put their **** in you

Really need a:

leave it alone and just use starforce option

The fact I parted with money for it makes me angry 2 years later. I though ED's policy was that they wouldn't release half arsed modules even via 3rd party like FSX did.

Think every single review on their steam page is negative and they just delete any less than glowing feedback on the forums

Correct the ED forums are ruled with an iron fist and a ban hammer that Thor would envy
When something is said there (doesnt need to be inflamatory or direct against ED) that goes against
what they want being said posts get deleted threads locked people banned

There used to be a great reddit community /r/hoggit but they have went a same way
Now hoggit get these exclusive sneak peaks, pictures etc just for them ..... and in return
they are heavy handed with anyone who speaks badly about ED on hoggit
Censorship at its finest

simhq is one of the few flight sim related places were a customer of ED can speak their mind ...
But be warned ED ban people on the ED forums if they speak in non flattering terms in
someone else forums about ED

Being fair. I know it has "areas of opportunity" (e.g. the AI accuracy, MP balance when VR users can't identify a plane until they're in shooting range, whilst monitor users get a mini-version of the hubble telescope), naffed up sling loading etc. Having said that, I can't think of a single game that doesn't have some or other issue.
Making up for that, the sheer experience is simply awesome. I've stopped playing Elite and pretty much all other games whilst learning how to fly. Have also tried IL2, which left me cold.

2.2 arrived yesterday. That's allowed use of the Harrier in NTTR and also Normandy. Also brought some graphical enhancements and performance tweaks. There's rumours of 2.5 "maybe" happening pre-Xmas. Good times are definitely here.

On a slightly bizarre note, one of the 3rd party developers has announced the introduction of an aerobatics aircraft. Can't say I'm too fussed either way. What I'm amazed at are the number of negative comments from some players about it not being a combat aircraft. "so what" are my thoughts. If it helps fund the game technology, it's a good thing and it's not that they're obliged to buy it. More to the point, there's a LOT of players using aircraft in aerobatic teams, so seems to make a LOT of sense.

Wouldnt bother me at all, as said before if the quality is there unlike the hawk (which was partly sold as an aerobatic module) then its up to the buyers.

I'd imagine it would have to be a bit more competitively priced though, can't say I'd buy for £40 like the rest.

e: I didn't realise the community was expecting it to be a new MiG. Can sort of understand the outrage now.

Hmmm, probably not getting it

I too wonder how much they think thye can get for this
ED said that the P-51D was the most cost effective module to date
most likely due to simpler avionics, simpler coding etc

So with that in mind this should "probably" not be too expensive

Probably because it was finished and was fun to fly, not to mention the first warbird they released and free to try the trainer version.

On another note, just done some reading, VEAO no longer develop for DCS. Good riddance but if you've got the hawk, it probably wont end up getting finished.

I'd quite happily delete the hawk from my DCS account so I don't have to look at it anymore.

Someone wake me up when a quality Tornado is made, or player controlled SAM sites.

Yeah VEAO were planning on doing the tonka so glad they aren't involved now.

There is a free sam simulator out on the web but its fiendishly difficult

You're not the only one that's glad they aren't doing it!! I think I saw RAZBAM post a 3D render of a Tornado tail, they seem to be ok at churning aircraft out at a decent quality. But from using the SimSkunkWorks Tornado for P3D, the depth of the systems is incredible considering its a 2 man crew so it's going to take years if they do it properly.

The free SAMSim is great fun, would be amazing with proper fully modelled 3D cabins. I could use that CE2 biplane for target practice :D

Viggen is currently on 50% discount and there's a whole bunch of discounts planned for the 23rd onwards.

2.2 has been a bit of a surprise. Getting much better frame rates AND it looks better. Rather a win-win scenario.
Been practising in the Harrier, so have sorted cold starts, short take-offs, vertical landings and how to use the weaponry. Lovely to use.
Couldn't help myself on the Viggen. Looks rather complex, if for no other reason than the fact that it's control methods are different to most of the Nato stuff I already have.

Main sale it now on for DCS, with lots of bits discounted. Finally got around to buying the A10C, as it was on for $15. Bargaintastic!
