Any recommendations for a fast jet comparable in complexity to the A10? Fancy something new but like the complex avionics side of it, not a fan of choppers and the ww2 content doesn't give me the offline complexity that I want.

Would have the f18 as it's looking lovely but not out yet :(

I'm finding the Viggen rather complex, though that's partly because it's "different" to configure for use to the USA based systems. For example, it was apparently designed for a single pass delivery of ALL of it's weapons, then to escape. Implications being that you can potentially target weapons against different targets.

Ok thanks for that, in that case which one is more complex but suited to vr better?

Just bought a house so while I'd like to get at least one module at the 50% off need to keep an eye on the pennies :/

Bit torn at the moment. Currently practising in the harrier, which is a brilliant all rounder. Have to say, the full weapon list on the F18 appeals.

over on ED forums , people are peeing themselves like over excitied puppies about the F18

It is going to be many months before it is released and who knows until then
what exactly will be working at "early access" release, going to wait and see

You can always wait until the last minute before the offer expires before buying it for $60

Or wait until it's included in a sale to get it even cheaper.

Realised yesterday that it's not just $60, but that also comes with $16 of vouchers, which can be used on future DCS products (which I'm clearly nuts enough to continue buying).
That's close on a 50% discount, which is what we sometimes get during sales. That was enough to convince me. Pre-ordered.

Being doing a lot of work recently trying to improve my combat delivery in the Harrier, mainly online, but with offline to brush on on specific elements. Still need to work on my JTAC use, but it's getting there (too slowly).

Here's an interesting one. I've been flying over the last few days on the "Through the Inferno" server. It has a permanent ongoing PVE campaign that is restarted with a random update every day. So far, it's been really fun.
If you guys fancy flying together, come and join us. It's jets only, but a genuine challenge.

Update. Now sorted my JTAC knowledge. Successfully knocked the hell out of a tank group earlier today.

Thanks.

Had a quick blast of this with a Rift, working through the tutorials. Not really a pickup and play game and more of a full on simulator, just getting the engines fired up in VR is a mission with all the key presses required :D

Updating right now. Looks like it'll take a while as the download speeds are not exactly awe inspiring. Still, so excited of what it'll not just deliver, but act as the foundation for.

For anyone having trouble getting the download to work for 2.5 (element not found error on the website)

You can force the update manually by running the following in the command line from your DCS/bin/ directory:
DCS_Updater.exe update @openbeta

If you've not got DCS yet and want to get in early on the action (likely this will all be fixed tomorrow) you can download the DCS_Updater_64bit.zip from the downloads page (https://updates.digitalcombatsimulator.com/) then do the same thing.
