Whats the online multiplayer like, if it has multiplayer that is?

Certainly does have MP, though the servers are nothing like as populated as most online games.
Depending upon your view, it's both good and bad, i.e.
- As mentioned, there's not actually that many servers, and many times there's few people on there
- For straight "air quake", there's better solutions. Do remember that it's a "sim", not simply shoot everything that moves. Warthunder has a LOT more action. In DCS combat, it's a lot more indepth when PvP and whilst in some cases you can respawn, typically you'll need to start your aircraft from the ground again
- There's a number of squadrons out there, running quite serious sessions. Go have a look at the "Grim Reapers" videos. They've been running a series of differing campaign objectives, involving a number of different type of jets, conducting air to air, suppression of enemy air defences, air to ground etc
- There's quite a following by some for aerobatics. Not tried it, but looks like it could be fun
- The squadrons I've looked at had a lot of people offshore (most usually in the US). That's a spot of bother from a coordination perspective as it's not really a game to jump in for 10 mins on a server

In short, again it requires genuine effort and engagement, but the resulting sense of achievement really is that much higher than most games.

2.5 is fantastic, really well done by ED here.

Minor bug with MSAA displaying the TAD and TGP blank in the A-10C, a few other minor issues but overall a very smooth.

Well, amazed to actually see 2.5 released as I genuinely thought it never would see the light of day!.
Has anyone noticed that with the improved tree renders it is now almost impossible to use the TGP/Maverick to find mobile Sams and tanks etc hiding in the foliage during some missions? (the downed pilot one springs to mind).

Even using the ‘white/dark hot‘ vision modes I can barely pick targets out :/ .

Check that you're using the MAV in IR mode, think it defaults to tv mode which wont have any heat contrast. I made that mistake for months lol

Tbh I may aswell stick to the steam version anyway. It spent the whole morning downloading the 2.5 files only to load it up and realise it had 'updated' me to 1.5.8 from 2.2, so its rolled me back and removed my content

I use the TGP (in all three modes, IR white hot/black hot and regular B/W tv monitor mode) to find targets as the zoom is a lot greater than the view from the maverick's seeker head, I then slew all sensors to the TGP view (i.e. set a spi) as this automatically locks the maverick viewpoint to whatever is pinpointed by the TGP. To actually lock the missile i press the v button with the maverick set as S.o.i.

I can't make out individual targets just by using the maverick screen as the resolution and zoom is too low to identify them.

Most missions, apart from those mentioned in the change logs, have not been yet updated for the beta version. There are a lot more trees now and what was a plane in 1.5 is likely a forest now, so mission makers will either need to deforest the action area or relocate the units. But it's not just trees- mission triggers, AI an so on.

Took it out for a quick spin last night. Very light controls. Buckled the undercarriage on landing but got it down. Now I just need to learn to fly it.
Btw, I was invited to join a UK based Harrier squadron.
Let me know if you’re interested in also joining.
It’s a new squad, mostly ex-arma players. Flew with a pair of them last night

gotta love all the updates, standalone version here, played online a few times but only solo, cant beat just going out for a sunset / sunrise flight tho. got quite a few planes now, mig21 is one i havent got yet tho!, got a 60% code ready for the hornet
