So how do I download the beta? Is it on steam under the beta participation?

Do I need to have bought anything? I have some old DCS games, BlackShark and A10 but I don't know if they're compatible with DCS World?

To download the beta , first build yourself Time And Relative Dimension In Space machine and go into the future to when they actually release it


Did you buy Black shark 1 or black shark 2 - the quest for more money version ?

Use autoapdater of open-beta.

Download the beta client:

http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/beta/

Run the installer,the client will copy all relevant files from your DCS installation, and download any additional files needed.

Downloading the 1.5 beta now but had to run "DCS_updater.exe update openbeta" to get it to work

Yeah I had issues getting the modules to install ended up having to use this method

Performance increase is drastic! Very impressed. Cant wait for the more detailed Nevada.

In the cockpit performance is amazing but external views are really slow

To Fix external View FPS - turn of the Depth of Field effect - it currently causes a big FPS drop.

Borsch AFAIK that carrier is not from ED.

Turn off DOF effects, not just to "Bokeh" setting to completely "Off". Performance only drops to 30-40fps around low level flying around forests as trees have tons of shadows. Otherwise is rock solid 60fps pretty much everywhere.

DOF is for screenshots and movies really.I turned off v synch as well and now my fps are well over 100 with no tearing.

Ok, how on earth do I install DCS world 1.5 open beta? I used to have A10-c and blackshark 2 through steam but rarely played them and uninstalled them ages ago to save space (i still have the keys though).

I now want to try the 1.5 beta that just got released so I followed the link to this page, http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/beta/

Downloaded the installer.

I run that, choose where to install, leave the box ticked saying run installer and it just quits and does nothing.

If I go to the folder where I chose the install location there are 4mb of files in there. There is no setup icon. The only thing to run is in the bin folder "DCS_updater" but I run this and it does nothing.

What is going on?????? Help.

I'm having an issue where all writing in the MFD's, HUD etc is just a solid block. see this

You can install from within DCS, in the Module manager (Top of main menu screen in 1.5)

It's not a module I'm missing but the whole openbeta after removing it to try and fix an error. I can install that through the release version module manager?
