*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

I'm not, but its a major spoiler. I wanted to make sure I didn't do the same thing I did to you to anyone else.

Don't start seeing things that aren't there

'twas a joke sir. I was suggesting that it wasn't clear if it was a spoiler or not. Probably didn't translate terribly well written down.

Well i had all waypoints etc turned off as i found the game much better that way, so i was basically running round hacking things at the final boss with no real idea of what was going on. Was it just me or was it slightly confusing, what was actually happening during that scene?

I think there was an email on a terminal earlier on about how to shut it down but yeah, there was next to no indication as to what you should actually be doing.

Also i rather stupidly(or maybe not?) hacked pretty much everything until about half way through the game when i realised that the codes that you already knew were written above the hack button:o I suppose i got more exp and nukeworms etc though:D

Yay just finished this. Got Pacifist and Legend. Also saved just before the end so I could get Deus Ex Machina. From a very good opening I thought that towards the end it gradually got more and more linear but I guess that was necessary to help the story along. Going back and playing through again in shooty mode with the Debug Mod, which is fun.

Top tip make sure you put your first 3 points into Typhoon and make sure you have some energy bars before going up against bosses. Typhoon + Energy Bars = Skip every boss fight. Essential really for a stealth non-lethal run through.

I know that and hack them all anyway. Om nom nom xp :)

Shoulda gone to specsavers?

The amount of exp you get from hacking is a little silly. Unless you waste points on Fortify and Analyse you will easily make up more exp than you invested... though it does take a LOT of time.

Why is it essential? Typhoon is boss EZ-mode so honestly I've been avoiding it. But all the bosses are perfectly killable using grenades, mines and an upgraded pistol. Given that the act of firing a bullet at a surface is an excellent distraction and a way to lure enemies past you/out of sight, a silenced pistol is pretty much necessary.

I found it useful as all I carried around were Stun gun, Tranq rifle and PEPS with plenty of ammo, energy bars (for my cloak) and Hacking viruses. Never tried using the silenced pistol as a distraction I just used the rifle or stun gun to stun one guard and then wait for them to go over to him one by one till you have a nice neat pile of unconcious guards.

Lol that was awesome.

Also figured out what the 'Chop Shop' code was that I found on my first playthrough. Seems you only need lvl2 hacking (or was it lvl1) and High Jump to get the Praxis Point in there. The codes hidden behind a large obstacle near the back (electrified) entrance to the police station.

I hacked most of the stuff in the game despite knowing the codes too. Here is what I ended up xp wise endgame

That's damn impressive.

Taking about the bosses, the end "boss" does it really count towards the pacifist achievement? Bosses obviously don't count towards it, so why would that one?

Either way, I'm just in Singapore currently. Still on second playthrough, had a few days off from it.

I raise your 197k :p

That was absolute end-game. Excessive use of silent takedowns and double silent takedowns, hacking absolutely everything, finding the vast majority of path rewards (did anyone find more than 2 'Trailblazer' 400XP awards?), finding the majority (:() of Scholar books, completing all sidequests and getting all Silver Tongues. There was probably maybe a max of 5k more XP available if you took down every Belltower NPC in Hengsha and got some more double-takedowns and didn't use the Stun Gun (which I had in places).

Yeah I didn't do any take downs at the start as I didnt't realise you got xp off them :( I missed out a couple of silver tongues too! pfff I did do a stealth ghost play through though.
