*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

Ok for some reason i can't play this game with my GTX580... Worked fine on my old GTX470 (now sold). It keeps freezing, whole PC locks up overclocked or not.
Tried increasing GPU voltage as well but to no avail.
Updated from 275.** drivers to the latest 280.**
Verified the installation through steam.

i've got to say, Shanghai is absolutely amazing!
(Yeah, I know, I'm really slow - only playing sporadically.)
Just walking around and taking in the atmosphere - I think they've done a fantastic job with it.

Lol, maybe Mark and Track does have a genuine use after all. 2nd and 3rd bosses, you just stick a tag on them and you'll know exactly where they are. Works nicely with the target seeking upgrade on the Combat Rifle and if you have frag grenades handy.

Maybe your psu doesnt like the power of the new card?

really? no problems here. Just finished the first mission, really great music!

Yeah there's huge threads on the Eidos and Steam forums about it. Even people with monster rigs are experiencing it. The really annoying thing is that my copy worked fine before they patched a problem I didn't even experience. Even more annoying is that they've done FA to fix it.

PSU is a brand new ZX1000, it's fine lol.
Also like to mention that this is the only game i have this problem with... :(

Could be the drivers, I've had a lot of odd problems like yourself since going to the 280 drivers from the 275;s.

My worst problem is driver not responding when gaming, the screen going black, won't log in since the driver stops working after windows loads.

This morning alone it took 6 reboots just to get past the password screen.

Before going to 280 I never had problems.

Then you havent been to the outdoor areas yet and wont have experianced it

I get the stutter outside but its not enough to be annoying, the game is another example of why I'm glad I opted for a 560, every game I throw at this card it runs perfectly fine, I'll never buy a £300 card again

That's the thing, it happened on the 275.** before i went to the 280.**.

Having a google around on this has shown on both the steam forums and eidos that this is a clear problem for many people. I'll keep tinkering but i suppose i'll have to wait for a fix/patch to be released.

Go back to the 275.33 drivers. I kept crashing with the latest 280.26 drivers on my GTX570. Absolutely no issues with older drivers. You might have had an unstable variant of the 275.xx drivers.

Just beat the game, definitely my favorite game so far this year. It had the story, the possibilities depending on you're play stlye and I quite liked the "moral" of your chosen actions by the end. Really impressed by this game, considering I have never played a Deus Ex game before.
Is the first one any better then this?

so im in the Detroit open section now and is the stutter you refer to when you sprint through uncached locations and it gives the slightest hick to stream in some data?
