*****Official Deus Ex 3: Human Revolution discussion thread*****

Go back to the 275.33 drivers. I kept crashing with the latest 280.26 drivers on my GTX570. Absolutely no issues with older drivers. You might have had an unstable variant of the 275.xx drivers.

Did a clean install of the 275.33 drivers and it still crashed.
It could freeze up at any point after 10-20 minutes of playing the game. Frustrating.

Is it just me or after Hengsha part 2, it all gets a bit dull? I really liked going back to Detroit and seeing the riots and doing the stuff you have to do there; the story seems quite interesting at this point. But, since then, it feels like it's just becoming repetitive and the story has become immensely predictable.

I am currently in Singapore, so maybe there is something yet that will take me by surprise but I am not feeling the 'Deus Ex factor' anymore - it just feels like any other game.

In comparison, if my memory serves me correctly, at this point in the original Deus Ex, it really starts getting complicated and the plot slowly starts to unravel but in a much more interesting way. But I guess that's not really a fair comparison, as Deus Ex is a much bigger game in terms of length from what I have heard from those who have completed Human Revolution - I haven't yet so please no spoilers!

Also I have to say that some of the levels really aren't as big as they make out to be. Some of the maps/level design is not that much larger than the original Deus Ex, and in fact, I have seen some that have been half the size!

So far I feel a bit disappointed at this point in the game. I really hope it picks up, because it just feels like the ideas have really started to run out. And I REALLY HATE to say it but it kinda reminds me of the same with Invisible War a lot in places - it feels like I am heading for some kind of anticlimax. Don't take me wrong, it is a much, much better game than IW but there are parts that are very, very lazy and unpolished just like it. Still, I am grateful we have another Deus Ex game to play and that this one does improve in a lot of ways over IW.

BIG SPOLIER ALERT:::::::::::::::::

So I didnt try to save malik, do I lose any extra missions or anything or she just dead no diffrence to game, differnet ending?

Finished htis yesterday night, Loved it 10/10 Best game that the PC has had in a very very long time, How the story was done and gameplay was just awesome.

Put in 21hours and i know i have missed stuff but with Gears3/FIFA12 very soon i shall be taking a break from it..but how it ended and the dialog after its over there has to be another and i cannot wait.

Compboyo: I can't say how it changes the game overall, but she does show up later in the game.

Seperately:

Wow, I found the third boss extremely challenging. I only carry a pistol (very highly upgraded) and I had to put an awful lot of bullets in him before he went down. If I play through on 'Give me Deus Ex' setting next I am going to have to bite the bullet and buy typhoon.

Struggled to get into this game over the weekend.

Just wasn't gripping me.

So picked up Dead Island and having a ball. Guess I jst don't have the attention span for this right now.

Using only weapons it takes a while but then thats what Frag Mines/Grenades are for. He was really easy when I last did it. EMP grenade to block his cloak, put a Mark & Track over him, then for some reason he just stood at the other end of the arena while I was looking out from behind cover with a target seeking combat rifle and a couple of frag grenades. He just stood there and took it.

I didn't have mark and track and unfortunately don't carry grenades. My encounters with him were limited to him appearing followed by a quick exchange of fire (even in cover I could only with stand about 2 seconds of plasma fire) and then him jumping in the air and throwing a grenade at me at which point I had to scarper. I just wore him down over about 15 of those encounters with my silenced pistol. I'm actually surprised mark and track worked since all other abilities seemed to be fried.

I know there were other weapons in the room but I'd got it into my head that the pistol was better than them. Every upgrade kit I've found has gone into that pistol so its pretty badass now (takes down a full sized mech in about 15 shots). However it struggled badly against that dude.

Solved!

Moved my 9600GT from the bottom x8 PCI-E slot to the x16 slot above and i've not had any problems for about 2 hours of gameplay :)

The only problem is that the GTX580 gets a little hotter now as the 9600GT is up against it..

SPOLIER:

so is she hard to save or what?

As I been playing mainly stealthy all i have is

silenced machine pistol 150 bullets
tranq dart 5 bulets
stun gun 7 bullets
shotgun 15 bullets

a few grenades etc.

I really dotn think I can take out all them dudes in a short time with only those weapons and ammo.

I do have like 10 typhoon ammo but need to get close?

If you attempt to play it as a pacifist and up close and personal you'll have to be extremely fast and make sure noones near the robot when you EMP it. The main targets are the 2 guys with the Heavy Rifles which I highly doubt you'll be able to take out at long range with that equipment so you'll have to get in fast. Typhoon will be useful for the robot if you don't have an EMP but otherwise just shoot them, they're more interested in the vehicle than you.

I had great fun with a Sniper Rifle. Laser sighted so I could no-scope enemies with perfect accuracy.

As for what it changes, it makes basically no difference. If she dies, you find her corpse on an operating table shortly afterwards and Jensen has absolutely nothing to say on the matter (which is very lame), the scientists fly themselves and the enemies stay in the room. If she lives, Malik picks them up and drops a bomb to kill the enemies in the hangar bay (which makes no real difference).

It is hard but it can be done with that loadout. The key is to take out the 2 heavy troopers and the robot very fast. The standard soldiers don't actually do that much damage to her. However whether you are going pacifist or not will dicate whether this is a tricky or incredibly hard challenge since the explosion when the robot dies is enough to kill any soldiers within a reasonable radius.

On the assumption you aren't going pacifist, your best bet is to charge to the right hand side of the map and stay on ground level. You will come upon on normal trooper who you can immediately tazer and then (if you have it) cloak yourself and take an immediate left and go and taze the 2 heavy soldiers (who will be roughly 90 degrees to your left by now. By the time they're down the robot will be unpacked and ready so you then need to find some cover (a pillar on the far left of the map under the building worked for me) and engage it. I killed it with the pistol and still then had time to go mop up the rest of the troops with the tazer at a relaxed pace.
